Is 0.0 accessible for time strapped/casual players?

Morning all.

Several times in the past i've made forays into 0.0 only to have to leave/be forced out due to time pressures.

I don't have all the time in the world to play this game, and if i log in with 1 maybe 2 hours of time to spend, i don't think its feasible to wait for 2 hours orbiting a tower while a fleet forms.

If i mine, i'm a carebear
If i rat, i'm an uber carebear,
I can't participate in fleets as they generally take ,longer to form than i have time to spend.

So my question to you guys is: Did i join ****** alliances? Are there better places in 0.0 for the time poor?

0.0 players frequently ***** about the volume of players in high-sec.
Prove me wrong and suggest a way i can get into 0.0 with 1 hour or less per day!

I see your problem. I blame both FC's and fellow players. Here's why:

IF you read a mail that a fleet goes out at 22.00 EVE time, you'd think everybody would undock and move at 22.00 right?

Here's what happens:

Random alliance dude 1 at 22:05: "Anything going on ? "
Random alliance dude 2 at 22:07: "There's a fleet?"
Random alliance dude 3 at 22:12: "what ships do you need?"
Random alliance dude 4 at 22:20: "Did you guys leave yet?"
Random alliance dude 5 at 22:36: "O wow, you guys doing a fleet? Can I join?"

This happens in all timezones in all alliances. For years.

I blame FC's for wanting peeps so bad, I have to waste at least 40 min of gametime for people that are too lazy to read.

Goonswarm might be big enough to form a fleet they feel is OK and tell everybody that isnt on time or asks stupid question to **** off. But then you would be in the CFC.

seconded.

It depends where you want to go in null. SOV null alliances might want you to be slightly more active because there is territory at stake. That said, any alliance that ignores the reality that people have lives outside EVE isn't worth being a part of. However, SOV battles can often go for several hours at a time (from form up to after battle dock up). For your own sake, if you can only snatch an hour or two here or there, SOV null alliances might not be the best fit for you. You might find it annoying that you had to leave mid battle, or that you ended up waiting around during a formup for nothing because you had to leave before the fight even started.

NPC null should be somewhat less of an issue. Generally smaller numbers, and you can go on roams which don't have to sprawl for hours unless you want to.

Better question would be why do you want to be in null in the first place? Answer that and then look for a corp/alliance doing whatever it is you want to do there. There are people farming anoms all day long, there are those who fight all day long, and there are those doing everything between those two extremities. But it is your job to know which group you want to be a part of.

We don't tell people to **** off. If someone is late to the party, but they can get to the fight (either via bridges or if they're just flying a fast enough ship) then 99% of the time they can catch up and join in. Sometimes however, its just not practical for latecomers to catch up. It happens.

Funnily enough, the OP might actually enjoy being in the CFC. There's almost always something going down, from casual drunk roams to serious business OPs at any given time of day. Sometimes at the same time. Just pod to the formup system, grab something off contract and go.

The CFC control half the map because they leverage enormous amounts of generally casual players (led ultimately by filthy cheeto-stained neckbeards of course, but that's a different issue). If you can't find a corp that suits you somewhere in that 872k man coalition, you suck at looking for things.

That said, sov null isn't for everyone, and there is nothing wrong with that. Most people sit through 2-hour big fleets because they like 2-hour big fleets. If all you want to do is care bear in peace, then there are numerous ways to do that without feeling compelled to participate in other things you don;t want to do or feel you dont have the time to.

Confirming there are easygoing alliances out there. Some will let you mine/rat/explore/whatever and never show up for CTAs. They have their dedicated pvp corps for that and keep a thumb on the end of all that non-pvp hate sperg.
I joined a gang of blues who bubbled the hell out of a gate because they had forced a bunch of T3s to log off in there. They were willing to wait hours for T3 kills. I hung around for 40 minutes and felt like i'd been generous with my time. Funny bunch, germans and assorted euros, all over 25 and willing to make a day of killing a small gang of russian strat cruisers.

TLDR; ya just gotta meet new people

Wanna have a lot of fun in 0.0? Cloaky ship, preferably a t3 with all the interdiction nullifier and covert ops sub-systems, find the alliances that complain about AFK cloakers in their home systems, and sit out there. I say T3 because you can go do some exploration when you're bored, make some ISK while you're at it.

I been in one alliance where the advertised time was the undock time. Never had a problem with numbers because everyone knew that's how thing were done.

It's like that law where work expands to fill the deadline etc etc.

40 minutes? How about 2 bloody hours. We all were in very expensive Battleships and going out on a roam. We got out 10 jumps into null when we saw another good sized fleet that we could fight. Our idiot FC says "Guys, dock up quick we dont want to lose our expensive ships". So I says why the hell did we bring the bloody things than? 5 minutes after docking up, the FC says "Crap guys, I gotta get to work, make your own way home"... Facking piece of crap...

You might be better off in faction warfare. It's easy to get solo and or small gang fights within 10 minutes of undock. I play just like you want to by hunting people in fw space when I want fights and doing trade/Industry stuff when I don't.
