So recently I was bored and looking at Jita chat when I saw this guy posting about a website that sold things. I went on the website (http://eve-bazaar.com/) and looked around.
The first thing I noticed was that I didn't need to create an account. As I browsed objects that could be bough, I saw that they were selling PLEX for 575 mil. I was bored and stupid, so I deposited 555 mil (they gave 20 mil when you went on their website). Then afterwards, I waited 7 hrs until I went on the website again and was prompted to get my PLEX until this page popped up:

Hello,

If you are reading this it means you have deposited some ISK on our website and that ISK is gone... but keep on reading if you want to learn how you can earn it back.

You can start sharing your referral link in order to bring other people to our website and when they'll deposit ISK you will get 30% commission of everything they deposit + 5m ISK for every new signed up user.

Why should you do this?

Because you can easily earn your ISK back and even make a profit out of it after that.

How do I know this will work?

It worked on you, didn't it? People will come on the website and deposit ISK, if it's done via your Referral Link then you get a big slice of everything they deposit.

How do I cash out?

Whenever you gather more than 100m ISK in commission and you wish to cash it out, you can do so from our Withdraw Page.

How do I know this Referral System is legit?

You don't. But what do you have to lose? You will be convinced that we actually payout our Referrals soon enough if you decide to join the program.

So, if you've read this far you should know you have before you an opportunity to generate ISK, beyond any other profession in EVE could ever generate for you.

Your website account is already modified to give you 30% commission (instead of the normal 10%), so from this point on you can start sharing your Referral Link, which can be found on your Referral Page.

For any questions related to this program feel free to email us at: admin@eve-bazaar.com
Good Luck!

They are actually getting people to scam for them. lol. So I talked to the original guy who referred me and he told me that he wasn't working for them and that he would get 5 mil from referring one person and 10% of all the isk that person deposited. Shady huh?

So now I don't have any more money and I am really depressed, but I hope there won't be too many others like me (the guy said he referred a lot of people. I don't think he'll get his referral money) UghUghUgh

Just ask your guy, he'll tell you.

Edit: So I thought this was a scam, but given that I'd come across a couple billion this week I thought 'why not test it'. Was in need of Lachesis hulls, so I ordered one to test the site.

Delivered in six days as promised at 10% under market. OK, looks good. Let's try four more. If they are going to scam me, well, I can wear that loss and I'll just refer people to make the ISK back.

Yep, delivered again.

Not saying that I'd trust the site as much as I'd trust Erotica 1, Chribba or James 315, but they definitely seem legit. I gave them the opportunity to scam me for 416 million ISK and they didn't bite. I'm honestly inclined to believe that this site is a bunch of 'Minerals I Mine Are Free' useful idiots.

Just placed another order, this time for two Phobos hulls.

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

This one is especially good as it is both a scam and a pyramid scheme. 10/10.

I sure hope the person's scammy profits aren't going towards RMT.

RMT is totally lame.

what's to stop someone linking to a website that steals your account details from eve (from within in game chat) ?

My point is scamming in game I don't have a problem with, but linking to external websites for scamming surely is a security issue ? im surprised its allowed

Before making (very) stupid affirmations perhaps you should spend, oh I don't know 5 minutes, reading about the interaction between websites and eve client: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/IGB_Headers

Do you really think CCP would allow in-game browser if just anyone would be able to steal your account info?... (retorical question aka don't answer)

I vouch 100% for my good friend paying out on referrals as promised. Just the other day, someone earned himself 200m at the 10% level. You're really lucky to be getting 30%, so get out there and bring in business! However, out of hundreds, if not thousands of customers, you're only the second I've heard of that had some sort of problem with your purchase. I can assure you, he does not need a new site regardless of the accusations in this thread.

When I read the title, I thought this was some discount PLEX trade window thing. I just so happen to be a wholesaler in that market, so if anyone needs large volumes of Jita special PLEX, let me know.

Ah, a pyramid scheme. I was wondering when I'd see one of these on EVE.

If you'd read what a pyramid scheme is, you'd realize this is not a pyramid scheme.

Large entry price - tick
Can only cash out after recruiting lots of people - tick
Promised lots of money for recruiting people - tick

Could you tell us what about this system makes it not a pyramid scheme?

I've no problem with people scamming in Eve, it's a feature of the game. But call a spade a spade.

I spotted a link to this thing yesterday, went on to check it out thinking there is no way they are actually giving people 20m ISK for free so was curious what the catch was. When I saw there was nothing cheap available on the market I knew it was a scam. I think the cheapest items were in the hundreds of millions. Nothing cheap to test it out on tells me they don't want people testing it.

Your 3 ticks are all wrong, stop being poor and ignorant. This is a retail business that offers a commisson for sales you bring in. It's no more a pyramid scheme than Amazon. You're just throwing around words you heard before in the wrong context thinking it sounds smart.

I would create a massive pyramid scheme in Eve to show you what it is, but I'm an honest business person, so you'll just have to find education elsewhere. Start with the wiki link that was linked by a person who didn't even read what he linked.

Falling for this is dumb. As for the people running it trying to justify it that is also dumb. a scam while not against the rules is still a scam. Do not try and call it anything else. You are scammers that is all.
