Malcanis,

I hope when your CSM term is up you can tell us what you really think.

pretty sure they are still bound by NDA even out of office.

The NDA lasts for 5 years ( I should check if that's 5 years frojm signing or 5 years after the information is revealed to me).

I do make an honest effort to tell people everything I can within the strictures of the NDA. I proably spend more time skirting that line that any other CSM member does, at least in public.

So if I say: Seagull has a plan, and all the CSM believe that it's real, it's deliverable and it's a good one, then I mean precisely that.

Malcanis, I have been reading Jester's blog, En 24m, here, etc etc.
Do you seriously believe that CCP will be in any shape for this "next great thing" 2 years if something is not done with null sec now to break the hegemony of the goons.

When one of your CSM associates is painting such a gloomy picture, I can't imagine what the player base will be like by the time these changes are implemented. Null sec , specifically goon control, has to be blown up, now.

Out of chaos comes opportunity, and that is what people want, not living under the yoke of the goons or PL as landlords.

Nullsec has been controlled by a few powerblocs since 2007. In a week or so, there will be 3. I personally do not like that situation, and I made the strongest case that I possibly could that CCP should consider it a matter of urgency to sharply reduce power projection, in person, face to face, to every CCP person I met who had any relevence to the situation.

If CCP don't think power projection is a problem, then it's not because I didn't tell them enough.

Cool...

And yeah, I already knew your position, just wanted to get it out in a more public view.
The more times it is seen, the more sets of eyeballs that read it, the more brains mulling over the issue, the better.

Anyone think that maybe CCP will 'launch' the Warbarge at Fanfest 2014 to further connect DUST with EVE? I was musing in terms of EVE pilots flying the Warbarge.

After the latest assault on high sec announced yesterday, nothing is outside the realm of possibility.
The only certainty is that high sec will be more impoverished after the June release than it is today.

The cartels are gloating, and for good reason.

Yup, I'm afraid so too Sad

I was looking at the PC GamesN review of Rubicon and couldn't help be amused by the following:

Quote:
While it will likely be Eve’s ever-present alliances that will seek to colonise and control any new regions that are eventually discovered, there is a second aspect to Rubicon that serves to widen its appeal, not just to the Eve-curious, but to those who wish to have a greater impact on in-game events without having to sign-up to one of Eve’s intimidating power blocs. “There haven’t been many ways for the individual player to carve out a little piece of the sandbox and make it their own” admits Reid. “This is where things like the deployable mobile structures come in, allowing players to build a home away from home, taking over a customs office from an empire and running that for economic gain, or stealing production from a neighbour with the Syphon Units.” The hope is that by introducing the means for individuals and small groups to chip away at the established order without directly threatening it, new tensions might foster a more intricate web of cooperation and conflict at all levels of the game.

Well we know that didn't go as expected. I can't see anything that indicates CCP are keen to upset the established coalition power blocks ... in fact, recent events suggest quite the opposite.

I'm hoping for being able to command individual drones with F1-F5 just like turret and missile users. That would be nice. The hold and click radial UI function is better than what we had to do before, but still slow and obnoxious compared to using turrets as a primary weapon.

Also, UI sexification in general would be nice because... http://i.imgur.com/07RQKAj.jpg

Personally for me to get back into the game and just not keep my highest sp char skilled.
I would need some shake up in the core mechanics.

warp - jump - warp - jump - camp - blob.

its old hat. shake up the travel system. make some gates have multiple possible spawns within 200km.
some gates in radiation clouds that hinder permanent camps. Asteroids with weird properties that have localized wormhole like effects. passing asteroid fields that make a gate unusable for hours - days for anything bigger than a cruiser.

Basically anything that add's some tactics back into the environment. Shake things up. The thing I've learnt from eve in 10 years is that balance has it's place but the truth is that total fairness is boring. Perfect balance creates nothing fun. Everyone Likes to find an advantage and exploit it. The problem is when the advantage is always 1 sided.

you know you kinda contradicted yourself right? Saying that 'perfect balance is boring, there needs to be a bit unbalance.. but that's a problem when its one sided' that is the very definition of unbalanced. So you can't have it both ways you know?

IMO the summer expansion is coming to a good start. I actually think the refining changes will be awesome. Yes a few things will suffer with some of the pos mods (the rorq for example) but anything that is less clicky and less waiting 3 blood hours to refine is good for me.

I'd like to see the summer expansion have some link to Valk (i.e. I want Valk out before that and then started to or fully linked to eve by then damn it!)

And some new info on the new systems would be nice too.

I would enjoy seeing resources not be infinite. Moons, for example, run out of recources and the resource spawns in a random moon in a random system.

Could break up the boredom and might even lead to more combat/losses eve wide. No more "best" system(s) forever and ever.

Ok i'm going to address this...

what makes you think moons are infinite?

if we do some simple math, lets say 1 moon has been mined straight for I think moon minings been out for 9 years now.. maybe 8.. i'll go with 8... that means you have mined aprx 7,008,000 units from a single moon. 100 units an hour * 24 hours in a day * 365 days * 8 years (yes my math could be wrong) So... if a moon has apx 1b units of moon goo in it, it will take you.... 1,114 years to mine it out. so the issue is what exactly? even at 10m units, you still have another 3-5 years till depletion. that's if you mine continuous, and we know that a lot of times that mining has stopped due to RF and stuff being blown up.

And i'll add more into, moons are huge. some he size of a small planet. On earth, there are billions upon billions of 'units' of sand. Go to the beach and look. A moon miner is extracting units. one piece of something. Even if I was to calculate by weight, you would still have a few more years to go before you mined it out. (not on line so can't see the size of an avg moon in mass)
