There is no way for anyone to tell you what you would think is a great corp sadly, especially not when every single corp can be so extremely different as they are in EVE.

Thank you for great advice and a most useful guide. It perfectly rounds this thread.

DRunken roams , if your corp don't have any it's a ****** corp tbh .

We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.

A good corp is a corp that makes you log into EVE and enjoy playing it with them.

That definition of "good" will be different for each person. Before you can join a corp you will consider "good" there are two questions you need to answer yourself first:

1. What do I enjoy in EVE sofar?
2. How can a group of people make that even more enjoyable?

After answering both questions you will know what your new corp's main activity should be and what kind of players are needed in that corp as far a you're concerned.

Ofcourse none of the above will deal with the simple fact that some people don't get along. Also; as time goes by, your interests might veer off sofar, you want to look for another group of people to hang with.

Welcome to EVE. Dont forget to insure your ship :)

Friends that play and understand the game. You might not be friends to begin with, but you will after playing.

Some of the best people I've ever known in my life. VERY good at the game, but relaxed enough to have fun. We don't play anymore but we'll always have the memories.

You need people that know what they're doing, show up every night, are willing to help, and just want to have fun.

That's it.

It's an incredible experience when it's at its best.

Due to the mechanics of wardecs, their is a consistent requirement necessary for all larger corps to be considered good corps: Ability to PVP and scare wardeccers away.

Until CCP figures out the wardec system, we'll never see any overly impressive industrial corps that are on their own. Only ones supported by alliances.

I am of course talking about hi-sec; in other sec the same thing applies anyways though

Thanks again for everyone chiming in. Great thread.

Beyond the diversity of opinions, the emerging themes are: choosing a corp is personal and largely driven by my own goals and interests, corp's leadership should be disciplined, focused but attentive to team members, most corps are focused on specific aspects of eve (e.g. PvP), noobs do have place in a great and storied corp.

I will continue to patiently look around and the right corp for me will come along.

Cheers.

Plan an simple ACTIVITY

Regardless of what the corp does activity keeps the grind interesting. There is no point in being in a 200 man corp that only has 10 active players in different time zones.

Pog mo thoin
