Can someone explain logging-off mechanics to me please?

I understand the game mechanics for logging off are changing – how do they work – my understanding is:

If you log off in space (outside combat) = after 1 minute your ship warps out, then after 15 minutes it disappears

If you log off in space (before being scrambled/shot) = after 1 minute your ship warps out as above, even if after you log off it gets scrambled and shot at (if scrambled, visually it seems to disappear rather than warp away)

If you log off in space during NPC combat = after 15 minutes your ship disappears (if not destroyed!)

If you log off in space during player combat = as above, but the game mechanics will be changing so that every new aggression timer (e.g. if being fired upon) restarts the 15-minute countdown to disappear

Is that correct?

How it works right now:

Logging off (with aggression): Your ship will e-warp away to a random spot 1 million KM away (unless it's pointed), then disappear after 15 minutes.
Logging off (no aggression): Your ship will e-warp away to a random spot 1 million KM away (unless it's pointed), then disappear after 1 minute.

You will incur aggression if you are shot at by (or shoot) another player or an NPC. Aggression cannot be gained after you have logged off.

How it will work in future:

Logging off (with aggression): Your ship will e-warp away to a random spot 1 million KM away (unless it's pointed), then disappear after 15 minutes UNLESS it has been re-aggressed during those 15 minutes, in which case the timer will reset to 15 minutes again. Aggression will subsequently be checked at the end of every 15 minute period, and the timer will be reset if the logged-off pilot has been aggressed in that time.
Logging off (no aggression): Your ship will e-warp away to a random spot 1 million KM away (unless it's pointed), then disappear after 1 minute. If you can be scanned down and aggressed during that 1 minute window, then you will gain aggression and your ship will not disappear, as per above.

You will incur aggression if you are shot at by (or shoot) another player or an NPC. Aggression can be gained after you have logged off, even if you didn't have it already.

Or at least, that's how I read it.

EDIT:- NPC aggression and player aggression may well work differently, I've never had cause to check personally

Current Mechanics:

If you log off without an aggression timer, your ship emergency warps, and then it despawns after 1 minutes.

If you log off with NPC aggression timer, your ship emergency warps, and then it despawns after 2 minutes.
You get an NPC aggression timer whenever an NPC aggresses you, or you aggress an NPC.

If you log off with a player aggression timer, your ship emergency warps, and wont despawn until the player aggression timer expires. This timer lasts 15 minutes from the last act of aggression, and then expires. You get a Player aggression timer whenever you aggress a player / player controlled item, or if a player / player controlled item aggresses you. Player controlled items include Cans, Wrecks, Warp disruptor probes, POS Mods, etc.

If you are warp scrambled, in a warp bubble, or in a POS, your ship's emergency warp is prevented.

Once you log off, it is currently not possible to gain additional aggression timers. Meaning after 15 minutes, your ship should no longer be in space (although petitionable bugs have prevented ships from despawning in the past.)

Aggression timers used to be system (?node?) specific, meaning switching systems would allow you to shed all aggression timers. Recent reports suggest this has changed, but I have not tested it.

The Future Mechanics:

The change I am certain of: The player aggression timer can be renewed. This means, if you log off with a player aggression timer, and someone finds your ship before it despawns, they can aggress your ship and renew your aggression timer, meaning its possible to keep ships in space indefinitely, by continually shooting them.

The changes that need to be tested:
If you log of without an aggression timer, you should still despawn after 1 minute, regardless of whether someone finds your ship and starts shooting it before it despawns. This is my current understanding, but is unconfirmed.

This was confirmed by CCP in the feedback thread for that change. If you log off without an aggression timer, you will disappear after one minute even if you get aggressed in that time. I'm not saying it won't change for the final release though.

They still aren't fixing that? That's pretty lame.
