Is a dual core really required?

There seems to be some Ambiguity over the current system requirements. In some places it states the only CPU need is 2ghz with SSE2. However half way down one page, under windows, it changes to 'dual core' needed. I want to connect up a spare terminal I have lying round to the Internet to run eve, but while it aces all the GPU and memory requirements it only had one core, 2.5ish ghz with SSE2. Using search only brings up pages from 2013 asking if extra cores actually give any benefit, and I have not found an announcement similar to the one where they stopped supporting pre SSE2 chips stating they are no longer supporting one full core CPUs. This terminal will not be upgraded so that is not an option, if it won't run eve I will have no need to buy a modem for it (it's at a relatives who does not have or want the internet)

It will very likely run, but performance will not be good. Load times, in particular may become quite long and frame rate will be choppy while things are loading. Hard to say it how badly it affects your gameplay - depends on what you'll be doing.
