Issues, Workarounds & Localization

I opened the launcher today, it patched, I logged in and hit play. The program opened but instead of the character selection screen I got this message:

"Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong."

I played the game yesterday with no problems and have changed nothing on my end since then. I tried going through three different internet connections. All three connections allowed me to open up browsers, skype, and other games. I had my friend log on to my account to see if he could get in and he could just fine. I tried turning my firewall off but that did not help get through. I tried restarting game, launcher, and computer to no avail. I have no idea how to check the Server address and port or even know what a correct address and port would look like so I am at a lose as to what to try next.
