Hyperion or Navy Mega for lvl 4?

I have a decent understanding of how stuff works but never done lvl 4 missions in Gallente space so no real experience with Serpentis, I'm trying to figure out which ship to aim for. The Navy Mega will give me better overall tracking but the extra mid on the Hype gives me a web so, as I see it but could be wrong, it all depends on what ranges Serpentis tend to orbit (not counting obvious short range missions where you fit blasters).

Anyone have some insights on this?

Yes, yes I am. Thanks for noticing.

I would probably go with overall tracking (Navy Megathron), it just makes more sense more of the time, also because you won't always fight Serpentis.

They are all consolation prizes for failing to fly the dominix, which stacks its firepower into a weapon system with better tracking and more type selection, and is able to hit things with both weapon systems, all the way out to 100km (it really does have a better overall engagement envelope).

I always found it easier to work an omnidirectional link into a hyperion fit, so I'd always presume hyperion drones have a wider envelope where they can work with the rails. Both navy mega and hyperion have big dronebays you need to get value out of, dps is not exactly sparkling if you have no drone dps on either boat.

serpentis battleships spawn a long way away in some of the good missions, and some have 50+ orbits, and gallente agents give out a fair amount of angel missions.

They're both excellent rail ships. Plus both can field 5 sentries + lights, which is fantastic.

Never forget.

I would think a Navy Mega will tank better, AND be more agile/faster.

I realise that sentry Dominix is really good (I have another character with great drone skills) but I want to focus more on guns because, frankly, sentries are boring. Guess I'll go for the extra tracking on the Navy Megathron, I didn't realise it's also much faster than the Hyperion so that settles it. Many thanks for your replies.

Depending on how you plan to fly it I guess.
Short to medium range : Mega
MJD Sniping : Hyperion
