I was wondering if i train to lvl 4 or 5 on "BattleCruiser" does it make me fly the ship better than being at lvl 2 or 3?

The reason i ask this question is that i would hear on the forum if you train high on a ships skill you fly it better. I'm a lvl 4 in a figate but i don't see any difference from say lvl 2, but i might be wrong and missing something.

Each ship gets bonuses. Do a show info and you'll see the per level gain you get on that hull.

EFT is another great way to see how different skill levels affect different ships and fits.

Yup, your ship gets better (as said above). When determining which hulls to train to V first look at the Tech 2 ship lines. Most of them require you to train the appropriate tech 1 ship hull to V before you can train and fly them. So check out which T2-classes interest you/you would like to fly as to prioritize your training.

To clarify, each ship hull gives you certain per-level bonuses. For instance the Drake battlecruiser give you one or more bonuses proportional to the level of your Caldari Battlecruiser skill. +1% per level of this, +5% per level of that, so if you have Caldari BC 3, you'd get +3% and +15% respectively, to those two stats, but if you train up to 5, you'd get +5% and +25% instead.

Look up the actual bonuses in-game, in the "show info" window for each ship.

The racial ship skills (like Gallente Cruiser) are so good that they are well worth training to 5 despite being long trains. They generally add a lot per level to your combat prowess in a given hull.
