What I'm trying to say is, fit something cheap and just go do whatever YOU want, don't give a damn about anyone... play your way, and if someone is in your way, kill them! lol

This player get's it. Hop in a spaceship (you can afford to lose) and shoot other spaceships, and don't be afraid of 'sploding, creating a hilarious lossmail.

I'm throwing up a little, but no discussion of mining and standings would be complete without mentioning L4 mining missions. You get standing, isk, LP, and because of how deadspace pockets work, reduced chance of being ganked. The SP is still totally wasted for anything else.

Creating this thread just gave me more questions than answers. With a bit of research, I've been able to make a couple million in trading, as well as dip my toes into ratting in my Catalyst.

Next time, I should ask questions knowing they won't lead to more questions...

Take up trading. Invest a little money into an item at one station, move it to another and sell it at a higher price. Get good at it, and you will make more money than you will ever need. Or you can just mine. Kinda boring but to each his own I guess.

It's not easy though. Just because you don't want to engage in combat with other players doesn't mean it won't happen. Your cargo ship full of goodies you want to sell? Someone is going to try and blow that up and take your goods. That new mining barge that will let you clear entire asteroid belts? Someone will kill you for both profit and tears.

my best advice is to go to all of the places while doing all of the things.

in this process you will find some of the places and things are more fun to you then some of the other places and things.

find what places are your favorites to do those things, then do those things in those places.
