Wow! Looks nice! Good work! But i think you should correct the targetting range down to meters.
Looks like that thing can target 56250 km. Would maybe be a bit far. Lol

Yes, we're increasing the targeting range of all ships by a factor of 1000. Forgot to mention that in the blog.

...

no, wait, it's a defect! Nice spot Smile

Im not sure, is that not a decimal 56.250km or 56250m

A comma would look like this 56,250km and then the figure would be wrong.

Nice update, While you're at it. Can't you make a Drop down box with the saved fittings for the current ship? So you dont have to open fittingsmanager search the ship and find the wanted fitting.. would save some nice time aswell :)

Nice, though not important. The fitting window will never be able to replace EFT, where you can try all modules in the game before actually buying them. It will always be more efficient to plan a ship in EFT and then just buy the required items in-game.

If the fitting window is really loading faster because of this change that will be its major benefit.

It's using Light Missiles for goodness' sake. It's clearly a bait Cane.

Fix POSes.  Every player should want one (even if all players can't have one).

It's actually quite correct. There's a dot between the 6 and the 2. ;)

Looks good.

1 request though, can we get a volly/alpha readout? dps is all well and good but sometimes the volley is more important (if only for measuring up one's epen against another, and who doesn't do that in eve?).

I’m proud to announce to you that after 8 years of hard work we’ve finally developed software technology advanced enough to calculate the damage output of your current ship.

And EVEHQ and EFT we're before their time??

I'm not sure whether or not to take this statement at face value or read 'spin' into it??

Thats sarcasm, is it so hard to find out? ;-)

Obviously the Servers already knew how much damage you deal with your ships. Else there wouldn't be any pew pew right?
It's a game so don't loose your sense of humor. Even DEVs should have there fun when writing blogs.

+1 for missile range

drone grouping in fitting would still be nice (for domi or other ships with hordes of drones)

What a horrible fit on that ship..

..that said, the dps addition will be "nice", altho the question is (as others pointed out): how'd you calculate bombs, smartbombs, damage types, damage vs a certain size and/or moving at xyz speed, etc. I.e. this additon will be 'cool' and sometimes useful, but it's not gonna replace third party programs that do the full calc for you.

TL;DR "nifty"

AFK-cloaking in a system near you.

How about a pseudo-EFT thing that lets us simulate fittings by dragging items onto a "virtual" fitting window?

This is what you needed to introduce. Pilots will still need to use other means to play with fits without having to purchase the items. Adds little to what already exists and nothing compared to what the likes of EFT offers. We’ve now got a DPS indicator. We are excited because……?

An awesome set of changes. Keep up this ridiculous pace of improvement!

I'd REALLY like to see a more dynamic resists graph. The current one will update with passive hardeners, but it doesn't count active things like Invulnerability Fields as contributing to the resists, though it shows their cap drain. Gets old having to undock, flip the invulns on, check the numbers, dock back up, change the fit a bit, undock again, check the numbers, etc.

Also, I think others have covered this, immediate range readings for weapons. A tooltip or something to show me when I have Nuclear L loaded, the range is X, and with EMP L it's Y, rather than digging into the attributes trying to remember. Would help out the missile kids too, since their math is much more involved. Even better, an toggleable HUD element down by the weapons that shows their effective range (say optimal) with the current load.

Merry Xmas to us!

Nice, now I need to be able to save more than 50 fittings -_- I really am glad you're slowly adding all the little things, but if there is anything that needs to be done to fittings, it's removing the 50 limit. I fly ships across all 4 races, T1/T2/T3/capital, at least 50 ships in my hanger, and I'm constantly linking even fits I don't personally fly to alliance and corp mates to help them with a fitting. One of the worst decisions you guys made was removing the local fittings and implementing the server side ones. Now, when you did this, I was one of the ones cheering because I didn't think there was any way you would remove local fittings at the same time, and if you did, you certainly wouldn't limit it to some ridiculous number like 50 would you? This either needs to be raised, or implement two folders, a local with unlimited and a client side.

Good job on the DPS thing though.

Edit: I read a reply where someone said the amount that could be saved on SISI was up to 100, a nice increase, but IMO still not enough. Serious question, how hard would it be to implement local folders with unlimited, and server side? Have like a tab for each? Is that something that's just technologically unpossible?

Edit2: As an example, improved fitting window! http://i.imgur.com/LJKBD.jpg

Edit3: While we're on the topic, it would be awesome if saved fittings included what was in the cargo bay and when you imported the loadout that stuff got put in there. Then I wouldn't have to goof around loading my ammo/boosters/repair paste every time.

About bloody time!

Just a couple comments:

1. How about displaying alpha damage as well? Can't be that hard.
2. I liked my buttons at the top, not at the bottom

Looking good. :)

I think there should be an export button. Click this button, and an EFT formatted fitting text string is sent to the clipboard. Open up EFT and paste. There you have all of your extra stuff like falloff, speed with stuff on or off, damage type amounts, graphs... and everything else now and in the future.
