Alright, so I heard the general opinion for the Worm is that it is in need of a serious rebalancing. However, I noticed it's going for 50mil+ ISK on the Market and I happened to buy one, before I was told it's generally a useless frigate. So, I have two questions:

1. Is there any real way to make it into, at least, a decent ship?

and

2. If it's suppose to be so bad, why is it so expensive?

I would love to fly the worm, but I personally see the worm more in kiting setup with its bonuses. Unfortunately the worm is very slow. You can however use nanos or overdrives, but the damage output is already low and by using speed mods in the lows it doesnt get any better.
Worst pirate frig at the moment.... I prefer flying the merlin.
The reason why it is around 50M is probably because it is still a little bit "blinky blinky" because of the pirate touch.

My suggestion would be to get rid of the missile velocity bonus and replace by something useful.

Cheers,

Overall, the problem with the Worm is that it's spread out too thin; a common thing with dual weapon frigates (the Gila and Rattlesnake have more emphasis on drones, and as such aren't problematic), with the other issue being it's shieldtank but as mentioned above has no real speed benefit from it.

As for the market price, since most the BPCs are dropped from lowsec combat sites, it's not defined by the ship's usefulness but its rarity.

tl;dr, buy an Ishkur instead.

between that and Gurista LP store.

Basically the Worm can be fit to play with as a specific roles ship. Personally I go T2 Rockets with Hobs and a web/scram. Problem being is something like an ishkur does drones better and brawls better. Hookbill/hawk does rockets better.

It can be a fun ship to fly and has a fair amount of satisfaction when you beat someone with one.

No. Its functionally missing an enitre bonus. Its slower than "the fat man." Its a tanky and has low-ish dps. Hard to think of a case where it can do anything that an AF or fast frig/ceptor can't do better.

limited supply, and speculation that it will be buffed in the future. Plus, people like to buy shiny stuff sometimes, especially lower-sp players that might find it the first pirate ship they can fly. While its rarely the best choice, its not a terrible choice for clearing out hisec anomalies and belts, or the 1/10 or 2/10 you may find.
