Is it normal to get scammed by The Mittani, Chairman of CSM ???

Think of some kind of contracts that can be made for ships that cannot dock. What if Chribba, Darknesss and Wirox die tomorrow? We will never trade big ships cos we can't trust anyone else !

Remove the mittani scumbag from CSM, gives a bad name to whatever Council that is.

Why wont you simply stop and think for a second. It is completely possible to play one style of game and still be knowledgeable of the other sides of the game. Mittani runs a very large null sec alliance, do you think he got to that position without knowing a single thing? Do you think people would elect him there if all he ever did was scam?

The game itself allows and even encourages scamming as a perfectly valid play style. You may not like it, heck, even I don't like it, but that still doesn't make it any less valid. Basically if you allow yourself to get scammed, nobody else is at fault but yourself.

Because people who pay attention to what's going on in the game vote him there, people who understand that something as petty as gamestyle doesn't make a person any less knowledgeable about the issues in the game. In fact, if the CSM didn't have anyone who operates on the "shady side" of the game, that would create a huge hole and make the game less entertaining for everyone, including the people who hate things like scamming, piracy and whatever else you could think of.

Simply put, EVE online is the type of game where you have to be on your toes at all times, take that away and it'd be just another run of the mill game that people would ignore.

Is this real life? Are there people that are truly this dense? Are there? I mean, I have heard of things like this before... but to see it up close, personal. My god. The human race is doomed. DOOMED I SAY!

P.S. We've told you why he is a CSM member, why he has the tag, and what that means. You'll just have to live with your ignorance if you are to afraid to let it go.

How did he abuse his position? According to the chat log you didn't even know he was CSM. So it had absoutely no bearing on you trusting him or not.
You just got scammed, you're crying like a baby, and trying to find any way to justify why it is everyone else's fault, except your own.

I don't always like posts, but when I do I post about it. This pretty much sums up this entire episode, if we are to assume that the alleged form of events are accurate.

He didn't abuse his position (if he even really scammed you at all, which I doubt. He's very honorable). You 'assumed' that because he was a CSM out of game that he had to act by a particular code of conduct, which is false.

I've read a few GMs and devs admit to the joy of a good scam over the years, so yes this is right.

They aren't allowed to scam while on the clock(and hence on their CCP rep characters) but when they clock out at the end of the day, they go home, log into a normal character account, and scam, grief, and gank their way through plays.

I used to be a GM for a game that shall not be named, and I started playing eve because that game didn't allow me to take out my dislike for whiny, self-entitled players because it was against community rules(no griefing game), so I can assure you, you probably already have been scammed by at least one GM/dev if you have played long.

Oh, and CSM are NOT CCP reps, that are player reps who speak to CCP on our behalf, and therefor they don't have a duty to make the company look good like an actual CCP employee does.
