Low SP - efficient training for null blood raider ratting battleship

Hello fellow pilots!

My question is about both ship choice/fitting and training plan, so I wasn't sure where I would post this.

I'm soon going to move to nullsec, a region where Blood Raiders rats roam the systems.
To make ISK I've been advised to get a Battleship asap so I can kill rats and run anomalies.

I seek your help advising me on what ship/fitting I should aim for, taking my current skills into account aswell. I don't want to hide in the station for 2 months before I can be able to do some ratting.

Combat wise, I've been mostly doing L3 missions with my Hurricane. So my skills have been focused around that. Projectile weapons and shield tanking.

I've been advised to train for a Dominix with tons of drones. But if I'm gonna train for a Dominix with a decent fit and powerful drones, it will take me a while. Also, my armor-skills aren't that good.

Since I love the looks of Minmatar ships, I've been glancing at Maelstrom. But since it's mainly a shield ship and Blood Raiders do EM/Therm damage, I assume that's not the best idea. There exist modules to help with that though.

The Dominix seems great and cost efficient. But pretty far away right now for me. Sentry drones are like 1 month away right now.

Thankful for all answers that can point me in the right direction.

I was going to suggest an MJD cruise Typhoon as a Minmatar alternative but you are quite a ways off from flying any battleship. For now you are probably better off running lower grade anoms and belts in your Hurricane until you are ready to fly a BS.

There are plenty of skills you can train that will improve your Hurricane while you work towards a BS and loosing the Hurricane will hurt less. However the choice of which BS to fly is pretty immaterial for you at the moment as you are equally far away from all of them IMO. That being said, the sentry Dominix is a good choice for general PVE.

Tachyon fit Oracle might be an option. Training would be short and it would benefit from your existing gunnery skills. Also, using standard crystals would eliminate ammo supply issues.
