I'm Gallentean.

Why the hell would I be flying for anyone else?

In fact, it's not even nationalism. I just work here, Pierre.

Well, it makes about as much sense as Nationalism.

Only the liberty of the individual assures the prosperity of the whole. And this foundation must be defended.

At any cost

I'm a Federal nationalist and I don't understand this thread either.

By the gods, you lot are two-dimensional.

You really think an individual is solely defined by their loyalties? Not their family, upbringing, friends, relationships, experiences, and so forth?

Use those intelligence implants of yours. If someone works for CreoDron, do they bleed drone manufacturing?

What...?

If I wanted to talk about my cooking classes or something, I'd take it to a forum about cooking.

I am a goon and I dislike DBRB, but that does not go counter to nationalism at all since he is a MRCHI.

I miss when you hadn't been intimidated and peer-pressured by your friends into only making boring posts that nobody in here will understand.

Mr. Inhonores has been indoctrinated by the Federation military to be a subservient instrument for their whims, and thus no surprise to see this individual reach such conclusions. In this example we witness the sinister nature of Imperial authority, to control an individual while instilling the notion they are free to make their own choice. As an alleged defender of freedom and individualism from the might of Nation, I find it rather ironic how similar your behavior is to that of a common drone.

I fear Seriphyn is...not so elegantly trying to illustrate a point from a conversation he and I had.

I believe it is only natural to have some affinity, some affection for something you grow up with and enjoy a relatively good life with. In this case a nation, but really it works for many other things.

I was born in the Empire and I've lived within it nearly all my life. I'm the daughter of a moderately successful businessman and a local civil servant. My childhood was good, I was taught and taken care of and loved. Amarrian society provided me with an opportunity to learn and grow and eventually become gainfully employed on commercial vessels. A corporate sponsorship, that I can only assume is somewhat subsidized by the Empire at large, provided me with the opportunity to train and eventually become a capsuleer. All things considered, I've had a good life and I have to at least partially attribute that to various policies and standards within the Empire.

Naturally I don't like it when I hear people wishing the whole of the Empire would burn.
Naturally I have some pride in the Empire because the majority of experiences I've had within it have been positive.
Naturally I'd probably chose to work for the Empire because of this.

So, I believe Seriphyn is saying much the same thing, for his own experiences of course... as I very much doubt he spent his teenage years in a convent.

It's not nationalism, it's ignorance of something better... or just plain laziness. Either way I must agree, your post is vague and without much merit, save as an illustration of what corrupt governments do to people.

Nationalism is so two centuries ago.

Revolutionary Patriotism is the way to go.

It wasn't my friends that did the intimidating. I cannot say more on a monitored comm channel.

I am Caldari, though settled in Amarrian sovereignty.

I work for myself.

I believe the Gallentean living down the hall is out to steal my work, that foul lady.

Whats wrong with flying for yourself?

Like most people do. Capsuleers included, even if this is less true considering their more... timeless, detached, and traveling nature.

For one, it's selfish and futile.

What you Star Fraction rebels fail to understand is that you are just nationalists of another flavor. The moment you organized into a group and expressed a common cause, you became a nation. Your end goal may be a world without such constructs, but to attain it you have adopted the very tools you vilify.

To live for no nation is to live for no cause, and without a cause a man accomplishes nothing.
