Hi, i need some help with fitting my Caracal for L2/L3 missions. I can mix T1/T2 modules but i can spend a bit more on fit so i can build fit and having no problems this type of missions. If anyone can link/post good fit for it i woud be very gratefull.

Thank you :)

I wouldn't use a Caracal in lvl 3, not as a newbie. It can work in many of them but there's also a few where it just doesn't. You're much better off getting a cheaply fit Caracal for lvl 2 and then invest a bit into your drake. What you can also do is simply forego on lvl 2 altogether, stick to doing lvl 1 till you have standing for lvl 3, that way you avoid having to buy and fit said Caracal.

Here's a cheapo fit (no rigs) that will work well in lvl 2, it's ok to invest a bit in the launchers since you'll be porting those to your drake anyway. Just replace with named or T2 where you can. Resists depend on the faction you're fighting of course.

Once you get to lvl 3 missions you'll want to have a drake and you'll want to ACTIVE tank it, anyone telling you otherwise is wrong however convincing they may be.

Active drake? Sure, now go back to wherever you came from and stay there until you L2P.

There's always one... :)

Non-stupid people who know facts and understand how this game really works (unlike clueless folks like the one I quoted) realised that, especially since the rebalance, missiles have big issues applying their dps even against same size targets. In plain English that means that heavy missiles don't even apply their damage against a Cruiser and it's actually quite a big loss.

To battle that you want to fit rigor rigs (there's also flare rigs but explosion radius is more heavily weighed in the whole damage application formula and thus 3 t1 rigors is generally the best solution unless you fit T2 rigs, then it's 2 rigor 1 flare). When you do that you suddenly gain a ton of applied dps to cruisers and smaller and thus you complete missions a lot faster. The result of that is that you can't fit purger rigs and THAT means that shield regen fits just won't work which in turn means you'll want to active tank.

And if you then do some EFT FU you'll find that it's actually very easy to tank 250~300 dps in an active tanked Drake even with normal mods and relatively low SP, which is MORE than enough even more so because you kill stuff faster due to the rigors. So smart people will then realise that an active tanked fit will kill much faster than a regen fit and won't fall for the stupid retardo moron "always passive tank your drake" ****** meme, because it's dumb as hell.

Pretty much the same logic as with a Raven using CCC vs Rigor rigs, how about that?

An active drake will ALWAYS be better than a passive one in L3s. And if you use a Drake in L4s (in any configuration), you fail.
