What happened to the stuff Incarna was supposed to bring?

If anything, I think that's why most players will decide to stay. The idea of roaming the galaxy and bumping into people/bots of certain levels is too much 'them park' for me. Eve is cold and brutal, noobs run into the wrong people every day and even seasoned veterans can be surprised by the capricious nature of eve and lose their ship, cargo and isk to to anyone with the right skillset and expertise.

Eve is a simulation of something much more closer to real life in a sci fi setting than star citizen, and whilst I welcome WIS content I will not be leaving for SC because I want an experience as authentic as possible and not artificially limited by game mechanics (unless there's some good science fiction to explain them perhaps).

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

People complained because it wasn't about spaceships so unfortunately CCP cancelled it.

I suspect that if Legion is given the green light that it will involve developing the tech that would finally open the door.

I suggest to look at this video for everyone who doesn't believe walking in stations were in a very good state back in 2008 fanfest, and also there s no rumour of Gallente station interiors.. they really were real. It was a working in progress project, look at the walking in stations presentation here. Also everything says that the future of Avatar gameplay will be a separate but interconnected game within the EVE Universe, and that is by far the best way to go.

EVE, in part, is about exploration.

And there is nothing more frustrating to an explorer than a place they cannot go.

This is something that should be worked on, since now it is on the new realse model, they could implement it little by litte. first off? a bar. NPCs in there, have some sort of card game, a jukebox, ect ect. i don't need to tell most of you how damn boring being stuck in a station is, at least give me a reason to stay alone rather than going "Oops, camped. guess i'll go play starcraft."
I'm all for the avatar side of incarna. heres to having it happen.

Players were able to play that demo together at a previous fanfest. It worked.

With Legion, the avatar gameplay in EVE question has been answered. It just sucks that in order to enjoy it you have to play a different game.

It would be nice if CCP would invest more in EVE instead of all those side projects.

We don't know that yet though. They could very well launch a stand alone f2p version and then fork another version directly into the EVE client. There have been games that have used two totally different engines in the same game client, switching from one to the other when needed within the client.

All I want is the ability to use the same avatar across both games. I'm not too fussed about having to alt tab between the two clients.

In fact the advantage to have two separate clients (rather than one massive one) is that you could be mining in one client and playing legion in another, and not having your computer cry out in pain.

1. wants to play one character in two games.
2. wants to play two games at the same time.

As for what you said about having one massive client with basically two separate games, why does it apply to this but not WiS? That is exactly what has already happened more or less... though just one integrated engine which technically either way is not an issue for players since most are not technical. Now maybe you can see what "WiS haters" are hating on? Or is this a double-standard?

On that basis, I see no issue with Legion being in the same client, especially since it would be much smaller than adding in a ton of junk into WiS. The Unreal engine itself is not bulky, it's mostly the art assets and such, which the FPS game handles well compared to all the assets of WiS, by far. So adding more onto WiS is exactly what you are saying you don't want, but you just don't realize that.

This is a common misconception. WiS didn't almost kill EVE, Internet spaceship neglect almost killed EVE.

Personally I suspect that veteran players won't go to Star Citizen, but new players who are looking for their first online space game will choose star citizen over EVE.
