no clue, seriously none at all - launcher has imploded

as of dt tonight i cannot play.

launcher fails to load anything, it immediately freezes and enters "not responding"

the exefile eternally patches itself (see edit)

the eve repair tool fails

DBRunRecoveryError: (-30974, 'DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery -- PANIC: fatal region error detected; run recovery') repeats many times in the bottom part of the repair window.

I have no technical expertise so i dont even know what to try and find regarding my system that is going to some how fix this. I guess right now all i can think of is im using Windows 7 professional 64 bit.

I was in game before dt just fine. I exited before the shutdown. When the launcher said the game was back up i attempted to log in but immediately upon pressing play, half my launcher turned black and the whole thing stopped. I exited it and reloaded it and it has been broken since

EDIT - Well exefile finally pulled through after several patches its worked and im logged in, launcher remains entirely useless

Having this issue as well, running windows 7 64 bit. After first encountering this issue, I tried to run the repair file but it deleted itself (O.o). I downloaded and ran a new repair file which seemed to work fine, but the launcher was still broken. Running it again gave the error listed above. Tried running exefile.exe, and it worked fine. Launcher still broken though.

went to bed, shut my computer off entirely for a few hours and have come back to find my launcher still does not work, it immediately stops responding. Checked task manager and noticed it somehow has 2 instances of the launcher exe running but no idea if thats related, or how to stop it, if it is

I have windows 8.1, 64-bit. Most of the time, I can only launch the game in "safe mode".

Upon further experimentation, the only reliable method for starting the game is to right-click the launcher and select "run as admin".

No program should require running as admin except installers - that is a serious breach of security.

another small patch, the launcher again breaks...

its now on the 3rd round of patching, its already deleted all the saved usernames from itself, so when it FINALLY gives up the busted eternal patch looping i'll have to re-enter that info

Having the freezing launcher issue as well.
I can still get into the game by launching \CCP\EVE\bin\exefile.exe

Any workaround or fix known?

Same issue here since yesterday.
I installed on a new Win8.1 system and was able to play EVE via the launcher on the 1st run. After that it freezes on all attempts.
No safe mode is possible, running as admin not working, too.

Tried to repair EVE, clean cache with no success. On my old Win7 machine all is running as expected.
Running launcher in DependencyWalker to get some hints on the issue produced some Access Violations and a 2nd chance exception, but that has to be something different.

There seems to be a lot of pilots having this issue and I did not find any reply/ hint from CCP yet.


Any help is welcome!

Same issues Launcher crashes on every load. Region error also noted on repair. blah blah blah I got in using the bin file exe yesterday but now patching is screwed from that side of things so off till tomorrow then I'll re download the whole damn client once again and see if it's working yet. My guess 64 bit issue somewhere in there.

Seems to be fixed for me with the latest patch today.

1. Launch EVE w/o launcher
2. download patch
3. apply patch

=> My launcher is working again.
