Scan the object you're going to hack then refer to this doc for which cans to grab:

Basically for data sites only ever grab parts and data canisters and for relic sites it's parts, materials and data canisters. All the rest are trash.

Remember to scan first tho and only grab the cans that will have loot worth getting.

Thank you all for the helpful advice.

CODE is just a bunch of pirates; smart, organized pirates. It doesn't help to rage at them because that is exactly what they want. Dust yourself off and get back on your feet, you don't even have to talk to them.

I did, and I was just pulling in random cans until I figured that some were more valuable than others. Data Container > Scraps Container

5 mil from a high sec Data site is on the high side, but happens quire often. 5 mil form a high sec Relic site is quite rare.

Which is odd as at one time I remember CCP saying they wanted exploration to be a more lucrative profession than mission running. After all even in high sec you are competing with other players when you explore (unlike missions) so it should pay better. But high sec exploration is poor relative to missions.
