[IDEA] Crystal ammos recycling services - by Imperial Navy

crystal ammo cannot be repackage nor repairer, so those used and partly damaged crystals stuck in inventory.


how about NPC, such as imperial navy, open a recycling services of their own imperial navy crystals

for example, 4 x 20% damaged crystals, as total it is 320% HP,
so NPC recycle them and give you back 3 x 100% crystals, number is rounded down.

At least the recycled crystals can be traded again.

let me elaborate further

Q : Why only imperial navy does this job? not other private faction ?
A : coz navy is wealthy Lol

Q : Why is the number of crystal return rounded down?
A : if you want a fresh one, you need to pay a little bit

Q : How about T2 crystals?
A : no NPC produce T2 crystals, and i believe that the "recycling crystal BPC/reaction" would be time and code demanding

+1, This is actually a good way of dealing with this, rather than changing the ammo behaviour entirely.

What are the Amarr Navy going to do with all your broken crystals? They're useless.

Obviously the Amarr Navy have some top secret reprocessing stations that allow them to re fabricate the crystals for use. Though it costs them a bit to do it. So it should be more than just 'Give 300%, get 3 fresh'. Isk fee would be needed.
But it's good for databases, good for players, and can be lore explained using something like the above.

Just reprocess them, that's what I do with the mining crystals.

Any that can reprocess/refine I would think, check the station info on those in your usual systems and see which offer refining/reprocessing. Always good to swap mining crystals out at 98% damage (before they go pop) so you can reprocess the nocxium out of them.

But don't pay attention to the above, bring all your used crystals to me and I'll safely and cleanly dispose of them for you without any harm to the environment...
