Game hanging after moving camera

When logging onto eve it runs fine until I try and rotate the camera then it suddenly freezes up and all I can do is move the mouse. It keeps happening until it suddenly stops and then I can play but after a couple of hours playing it happens again. This is on a 2010 MacBook Pro running mavericks. Any idea what's going on?
