Actually this could be applied to any part of the forum and would essentially nuke it.

I am thinking half the Dev's that post would get banned.

if it where to be implementet from now on, maybe people would behave.

No. It would force people to be more... creative... with their language so they could deny any wrongdoing (see: "plausible deniability").

edit: I should also add... my personal preference is for people to talk bluntly and honestly. "Being polite" and/or "behaving" for the sake of preserving peoples' egos just gets in the way of "getting to the point/heart of the matter" (as most "social niceties" do).
Now granted... there is a limit to how far you can take this... but it should be taken on a case by case basis (it isn't hard to see a "conversation" that has gone beyond mere "flaming").

To me, it's never a good idea to force someone to "behave" just because some special snowflake got their precious little ego hurt. It would just force someone to be more "creative" like you said.

I would rather someone be upfront and honest with me and not sugar coat it. My ego can take it, I'm married after all Blink

It is possible, in my opinion, to be bluntly honest and not a jerk about it. But there are times when ever I can't resist the temptation. Like saying the OP is a girly whiny snowflake that needs to get over themselves.

There, I said it, and I feel better.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.
