Help with Vargur fit

Greetings, fellow capsuleers.

After being absent for a few months, skill queue online aside, I noticed quite a few modules have been changed/added.

The following fit is what I had in mind and I need some pointers as to how to improve it for level 4 missions in Minmatar space.

As you'll notice, 2 low slots and 1 rig slot are empty as I'm unsure which modules/rig would be the most effective. Damage control ? 2x DDA ? Signal amp ?

For reference, the propulsion module, booster and gyros are all the bling I'm willing to undock with.

This is pretty good advice, although my personal preference would be like this:

Damage control, TE
replace one TC with MJD
Add CCC rig

4th gyro II, DCU, warp speed rig. (The rig choice is pretty up in the air, IMO.)

Drop the salvager for another tractor beam. Drop the warrior drones for spare hobgobs and salvage drones. (Angel elite frigs are weakest to thermal.)

If you want cap stableish, then use a pithum c-type MSB.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Didn't even look at highs. I run a tractor, small remote armor rep(for drones) and random 3rd slot.

Level 4.. mm drop the expensive tank. You do not need it.

Also forget damm salvaging, its not worth. Only use the modules if you do have spare CPU and no ohter ideas


My vargur has 4 800mm t2 2 TS HEavy Nos ( the extra range helps specially makeyou feel safer in case you disconnect with bastion on) 1 tractor bem to get the can of the mission
1 Good AB 1 MJD 1 T2 invul 1 Large T2 SB 1 TComputer 1 specific hardener
2 t2 Ccap rigs
DC T2, 4 Gyro t2

If you have a crystal set you can drop to a medium booster and do not eve worry with cap.

So many gankworthy fits posted here... You don't really need to pimp the ship at all, except maybe damage mods for the extra bit of damage. You may never get ganked even with a 10B fit, but your isk/h is not improving anywhere near enough for the modules to be worth it at all.

Only using that tank mod due to how cheap it was. If / when I lose the vargur, probably going with T2 x-large or large shield booster as this one feels quite overtanked as is.

This wrecks Level 4's with little effort, and isn't a blazing gank beacon. Just interesting. MWD and MJD give me all the mobility. Three tractors, let the salvagers do their work. Two Invulns and the Bastion, shield reps around 2K per pulse. Blows up frigates down to about 11km.

Its pretty simple to fit the vargur really. 1-2 slots for tank are enough, and the rest go to damage projection and gank. Here is an example.

When you go in mission, and you know next room is long range (talking for example Dread Pirate Scarlet) you refit mwd for mjd on acceleration gate.

How to use this fit?
Land in site, if there is gate burn for it and bastion on the gate, blow everything up.

More tracking? You don't need it and you have rig for the boost, even with Marauder IV this can hit pretty much anything.
Tracking enhancer istead of Damage control unit? For 2.5 km falloff, no thank you.
Faction tracking computers? For 2.5 km fallof, no thank you.
Faction invul? You can't pull that much aggro on yourself and still not be able to tank it, unless your skills are at like level I.
Faction MWD? Yea, sure, cap penalty can be harsh, but meta IV one can work as well.
Rigs, you could replace metastasis with burst aerator to gain 50ish more dps, but meh, I like killing frigates on 12 km with large guns.
T2 booster? I think it can work, I was using less tank (around 400 omni) and it was holding up in most missions if you didn't blap all the triggers. With this tank and bastion you can pretty much pull all the aggro in any mission and still shot everything down before your cap is below 50%
