Hello Everyone!

We are planning a mass test on Singularity on Tuesday, 4th February, at 17:00 UTC (EVE time).

What exactly is being tested?
- Migration of the EVE Universe Data

How to connect to Singularity for this test:
Read the Instructions at http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Singularity and read general instructions about mass tests at http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Mass_testing.
Join the in-game channel "MassTesting"

Test steps:

Meet in FD-MLJ at the gate to X-BV98
Jump to X-BV98
Align to planet 6
Warp to POS beacon
Shoot the control tower
Align to Poitot gate
Fleet 1: Jump to Poitot and setup gate camp
Fleet 2: Jump to Poitot + fight at the gate

What else should I know?
-We are endeavoring to get a mirror done before this test, but be aware this may not be possible in time.
-We will be moving players to the test system - join the channel massmoveme.
-Skill points will be awarded on Singularity for this mass test.
-Bring as many different ships as possible. Cynos will be provided, capitals are welcome (but many will explode).
-Bring any deployables you wish to use.

I feel like the actual date is crucial information, unless they've ripped the space-time thingymajigger and they're in the futurepast.

Little question: When were accounts on Singularity updated for the last time? Just because i'd like to know if i'll be able to connect. And if mine is not activated, where do i ask for it to be reactivated?

Thanks, have fun, & fly (almost) safe!

The data migration refers to an overhaul to the development systems that we use to store, author and deploy 'universe' data - the x/y/z of every asteroid in static belts, attributes on stars/planets/moons, which stargate links to which stargate, etc etc.
As a player, there should be low-to-zero visibility of this in the short term. However this work is necessary to set us up for future developments.
The aim of the test is A) to find if anything has been broken by the change, and B) to see if there are any performance issue with the new data formats that we need to resolve.

Would there be any way to do a couple of tests for district bombardment for dusties for example? The district and satellite locations have to be effected by this and some of us are concerned with how the YAML data will be managed over time.

(This question arises from a debate on a forum for EVE players using WINE on Linux or BSD.)

Does CCP want only clients running on officially supported system (MSWin/MAC) ?

We don't want to be throwing any extra wrenches in the gears of this mass test.

Thx

Everything went fine for me except for the fighters doing some weird things and no fleet channel audio :/

Cool test!

Sorry for answering after the mass test, but better now than not at all: We welcome all players to mass tests, but we will probably be unable to help players on unsupported systems.
