ESS dropping in enemy system + stealth bomber or cloaky nado gank squad = fun.

I don't think you understand null... AFK cloaker in Null system means ABANDON SYSTEM

My corps ticker is not AFKR for no reason. Well either way dropping ESS and cloaking means if 15% less, getting bombed or abandoning system and leaving it to me :) win win win

Here's one way to make them interesting: Have them accrue daily interest at the rate of 10%. So after a week it doubles - provided they can prevent others from stealing from it...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

I'm confident CCP will tweak the ESS and come out with similar things to generate more tears.

In fact, I hope CCP has some sort of tears meter in the office that takes measurements from forums, local, etc. Something like that would help ensure CCP stays on the right track.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

This is actually really cool, compound interest on my ESS.

I personally love the ESS and would use it if it were just up to me.

Fact of the matter is, at the moment, it's not worth it for the vast majority. Most people that want to use it do it for the extra 5% in bounties, however you have to let it sit there far too long to make it worth while.

If it gave a permanent 5% gain to total bounties it might possibly be worth while, also if nullfied ships weren't able to just harass it to no end with no chance of getting caught (even cloaked ships are going to set off the local alert and give notice to people). I really like the thought of it, I really do, it's just that the application is a bit off.

HAHA! That is truly genius. Some times I love the EVE community (only sometimes), such a creative bunch.

Maybe in Sov-land. Where I live it means someone to bait and kill. And his fleet too.

It'd be worth defending and placing then too.

Tried it for the first time today. Anchored it in an anomaly with tackling rats and went to some other anomalies and ratted for a while in my old geddon.

Three Black Legion interceptors jumped in, one hilariously enough died to the rats and the other two shot the tacklers and took the tags. Only lost about 20m so for entertainment/bait value it was certainly worth it.

Those who will use these for actual ratting are the ones who can keep an alt on top of it and scoop it as soon as something nasty enters, which is very easy to do, if you have an alt you can't use for ratting anyway and can play on both without your computer dying. This does not apply to me so probably will not use them for ratting.

I wonder if you can anchor them inside a plex... can an inty tank a citadel torpedo?

Putting these in a gated complex would be pretty annoying

I like the idea of putting it in a plex.

As a dramiel can speed tank the 10/10 citadels i'm shure an inty can.

Hmm... what about a 6000 damage smartbomb triggered by a stealth bomber >60k away?

I have actually tried to find one and failed dismally. None have been deployed in systems I rat. I even did a circuit of known large ratting areas and I did not find any deployed. And before you ask I had it set on my overview Big smile

Its here to stay folks, another one of the myriad of totally useless stuff littering the eveverse.

I am sure the team will eventually figure out the kinks and make is semi workable.

I just think it was a complete waste of time. But here is my stupid suggestion to make them conflict drivers Lol
If they made the ESS a revenue stream for Sov holders, well I could see them becoming pretty important. Make them a little harder to kill. A form of VAT on each bounty going to the Sov holders. Keep the stupid LP and bonus to bounties for the players but duplicate it for the Sov alliance. Sov alliances will have a reason to want them to be up. The OP indicated he stole 165m from one. times that by say 20 or 30 systems and you suddenly have an extra revenue stream especially if you have renter space.
You make take all more profitable as well because you steal both portions, the alliances and the players.

The only rework then needed is to boost strength so it cannot just be destroyed by a handful of ships and link it to sov of system. Also maybe a little bit of isk over say a 24 hour period to the player who drop it into system.
Isk always goes to Sov so even a bad guys ESS may be left untouched as long as everyone in system is happy with the payout...

Dumb ideas but then so was the ESS Shocked
