I had something simular happen last October. Every time I tried to launch something that required a lot of RAM or graphics I was getting a blue screen

Swapped out the ram done nothing
Changed the GPU. Still the same

Turns out it was the motherboard failing under load. Got a new mobo and no issues since.

Take note of the blue screen error code and bring it to an IT guy you trust

Pog mo thoin

There is a setting in the launcher to use legacy DirectX versions, change it to an older version.

Also, makes sure your graphics drivers are up to date.

Thread has been moved to Issues, Workarounds & Localization.

Also, +1. I also have an AMD graphics card and my driver crashes after some 15-20 minutes of play when using DX11 after Rubicon 1.1.

Download the 13.1 beta drivers from the AMD site.

This does not fix the issue. It's an issue with the latest patch. Change your games directx setting to 9 for now until the issue is resolved.

Why do you say that? This literally fixed my entire problem.

ISD are volunteers with very specific duties only, and never involving going anywhere near Eve's codebase. Even if it did involve that, you probably wouldn't want me touching the graphics code. I couldn't code graphics to save my life.

Creating this thread here and possibly submitting a bug report, followed by being patient, is the best you and I can do.

I hate to break it to you all but I was having the same problem too shortly after the second update to Rubcon a few days ago.

Never had BSOD problems for 2 years... and then whoola! I started having issues consitantly!

I looked at the dumps and saw that the problem was DirectX so I switched to DirectX 9 and still had problems!

I defragged my system, ran system file checker, checked for viruses, cleaned up the registry, and so on and so forth... still having problems when loading EVE.

Then it dawned on me... It's been some time since I upgraded my video card and the best way to check if my GPU is crappy is by overclocking it to make it more awesome until I can convince the wife that it's time for me to upgrade.

After overclocking, the BSOD issue has seemed to go away. Crossing my fingers it will stay away for the next few weeks before upgrading the GPU to a Titan! Although I must overcome the amazing "blap power" of the Mrs. first!

If you have a crappy NVidia GPU like myself (NVidia isn't crappy, just my older NVidia GPU) try downloading their system tools which will allow you to overclock and breathe a few months more life into it before upgrading.

You're welcome. :-)

STATUS UPDATE 02/11/2014

After a week of overclocking, I began having BSOD errors again... I downloaded Heaven Benchmark from Unigine.com and then noticed that my GPU was overheating... so I reset the overclock to factory default and still had BSOD errors. So I take a good look at the video card, clean it up real nice and still noticed that it was overheating. It was a hit-or-miss thing too. Which usually ruled out software issues because my rule of thumb is that if you cannot consistently re-create the error, then it's not the line of code... That's when I told the wife that the video card was shot and bought a new one! \o/ The wife was upset, but accepted it since she saw that I had been futzing with the computer for a good week!

Anyways, I couldn't wait for the new video card to arrive and let my computer remain crippled. So I took another good look at the video card and sorta noticed that the fan on the video card was spinning, but didn't appear to be whizzing...

After pulling out the video card, and applying a little bit of WD-40 to the fan... Alright! You got me... I drenched it in good 1/4 can of WD-40, cleaned it up real nice. I have finally got the fan whizzing and back in working order.
