its stated in the attributes that it has to be activated at least 3000 km from a gate or station... so why does this thing have the abillity to be anchored 5 km from a wormhole? not only does it have a warp distruption bubble on it (i can deal with that) but it broadcasts IN LOCAL who has jumped into the wormhole its anchored on

EVE System > Dmitry Wizard is now in proximity of the Encounter Surveilance System

keep this crap in null and get it off my wormholes!

these kinds of things make me think CCP hates us

We need MORE pvp in wormholes.... not less

I must be getting old. I didn't even think to try this.

Hopefully this will be patched out soon.

Well kinda agree. However it is not much harder to kill than a large bubble, but costs 25 mil. So if the null bears wanna throw me a few free kill mails I will take what I can get.

Honestly if they think it is easier to anchor one of these than to actually close the hole of put ears on it then whatever. Let them think they are super smart.

Already local ruins most of the element of surprise, and it has been proven we can still get kills out of the ones who don't use that to their advantage. Sure now they know exactly where you jump in from. Probably you would not be catching the ones with enough sense to employ this method in the first place though.

Honestly I was kinda hoping to drop some of my own on occasion in hopes of enticing a fight.

Maybe I am missing something. You can actually anchor inside of a wormhole?

yes you can anchor it 5 km off of a wormhole. it has a 30 km diameter warp distruption bubble. as sooon as someone is seen by this thing it also broadcasts IN LOCAL " Dmitry Wizard is now in proximity of the ESS" therefore. if you have this on your hole and I jump in it tells you in local that dmitry wizard is in your hole and you should warp your 5 billion isk golem out of your c3 plex

The real question is, should I abuse this until it's fixed?

I have not tested this myself, but if this is the case, they NEED to go or be change. This will kill 80% of my corps PVP activity.

Once again WHs are a complete after thought for CCP.

Agreed, this has to go. It's a game breaking mechanic for wormholes. +1 for the removal.

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

whats the difference between this and having a 1 day old tune in a t1 frigate cloaked beside the hole with your sound on?

It is the point...
It's cheaper and more efficient to use a real bubble and listen to the hole on an alt
It's 25mil and cant be recovered so it's not like you can move them from wormhole to wormhole.

It's just a slightly more convenient and expensive but less effective method of watching for Gankers.

If those bears you tried to Gank had a large bubble and a scout on the hole you wouldn't have killed them.

You won't see these on holes any more frequently then you'll see large bubbles.

So what exactly is it breaking?

its just more thing to screw wormhole people. having an alt on the hole requires you to have an alt logged in an on the hole. this tells you who it is and where they are in local without anything else. im not sure if they can be scooped or not. i havent bought any of them yet to do all the proper testing.

it doesnt belng in wormhole space, its one more thing to screw the pvpers over

I will attempt to explain this in small words so that everyone can understand. having an alt is not cheaper than a 25m super bubble. it also requires active player attention , at least more active than an automatic local spam in wh.
