Just wondering?

Is there any talk of letting players explore inside stations, on planets and walking inside ships as well?

Something like what swtor did maybe or is it too radical and moving away from the EVE interface paradigm ?

In the captain's room of whatever its called you are able to walk around but it seems like just a gimmick while in a station instead of providing a real environment to interact with.

There should be shops, stores, places to relax or do business on those stations. Is that something that CCP is thinking about?
With the PS3 game you have the fps combat added but I always thought EVE needed to allow visiting derelic or ghost ships and stations instead of just scanning a cargo and pressing a button.

Or maybe that is not what people want...I sure would love to mix space piloting/mining with exploring on foot in ships and stations

EDIT: Imagine all the RP that could be done inside stations and ships

Sign up for Dust. It's free and you can do all the running around you want. It's also the closest you'll ever get to walking in stations, it seems.

Because we have a new jesus feature called "Mists of Stargatea." Which will probably let us build stargates to wormhole space even though the implications are that we'll get "new space" in five years or so.
Basicly some big shot in CCP thinks that pouring resources in to gimmicks like Valkyrie and Dust is a better idea than focusing on EVE and WoD, which is why we get expansions that would have been called patches by the CCP of 5 years ago.

Because the first prototype got thrown out for [reasons] and the second tech-demo demo'd that the tech wasn't nearly ready for prime-time.

Did you not see the ******* threadnaught on the front page!??!?1

A quick browse through F&I and even the FRONT page of General Discussion would have revealed a multitude of past threads on WiS. Your ideas are not new, and in fact have been said several times by many other people. Please, post your comments in any number of other already opened threads on this subject.

Reserve the 'New Topic' button for an actual NEW TOPIC.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Well that OP Avatar just screams 'vacuous' . Perhaps it's a pure reflection of the real person behind it.

Well OP, incase you didn't know CCP did plan to do some kind of in-station gameplay but they never followed through.

You see, during eve fanfest, CCP shows players cool concepts and plans for eve but we never actually get the. The year before last, we were shown how the ships were going to show visual damage the their models and asteroids that collide and shatter. And two years later... Nothing.

You know, CCP's labour environment isn't intense like EA or Microsoft Studios when you can fly toys around the office.

Eventually there will be a stage by stage release for another few years.

Basically there are lots of insecure adults in EVE that are fearful their testes will fall off if we had WiS and could dress our Avatars etc. One imagines they crawl around naked with cardboard box spaceships glued to their blubber since apparently walking and dressing are so sissy.

Check my signature for the official CCP stance on WiS.

EVE is a game about spaceships and there's an enormous amount of work to do on the in-space gameplay before players (or developers) are ready to sacrifice it for a totally new type of gameplay - CCP Rise

I fill another BIG LOCK BUTTON is going to be pressed by yours truly ISD & CCP.LolP

No one wants WIS in the game anymore so stop bringing up the same crap again and again.

That is my two cents worth.

I'm more interested in the interior layout of my ships rather than the stations to be honest, but the degree of interest extends no further than curiosity. There is no practical, functional use for it that makes me want to bloat my local client with however many gigs more it would take to include this as a feature.

And the sooner SWTOR dies, the better. But on a more serious note, you might not have noticed, but that's a game where running around as a character is central to the mechanics. In this game, the spaceships are the mechanics, not the characters. You could even say the spaceships are the characters. WIS has no place in EVE beyond satisfying the curiosities of a few and the social inadequacies of a few others. Ever since Habbo Hotel, they just haven't been able to get quite the same fix.

Honestly, WIS could have worked if it wasn't coupled with a huge money grab and had actual content (like shanking people, gambling, hookers...errr establishments, and booze).

I, for one, would have loved to see avatar based exploration as shown here.

I think the group of players that froth at the mouth saying: "spaceships only, forever and ever and ever" are short sighted and ignorant. Some of the most lucrative professions in Eve (station trading, scamming, AFK RMT alliance leader) don't require a spaceship at all.

That being said, I don't want WiS the way it was delivered with a single room and Ye Olde Cashe Shoppe in Incarna.
