I think it would be cool if people can set up their cell phones to get notification and corp mail. So they can stay in touch with the corp.

Try the Android app Aura. It doesn't allow you to write mails, but you can read all the mails you get provided you give a proper API key. If you want to write mails then just head over to Eve Gate (you need to have a javascript capable phone browser) and send mails from there.
