Sentry Drones optimal range since R 1.1

I drive a drone boat...I am heavily drone skilled. Today I have found the Optimal Range of all my T2 Sentries cut in half. The Accuracy Falloff hasn't changed. I submitted a bug report and I'm hopeful the 50% range slice is an error and will be fixed. I've gone through the patch notes and don't see anything related to Sentry drones. Some people say this is CCPs way of saying "get out of High Sec".

Also some are reporting that the drones in bay seem to no longer be showing the effect of Omni's even when turned on.

You need to put scripts in your omnis now. Still a severe nerf but not near as bad if you use the scripts.

Actually the main nerf is to non hull-bonused boats and to Garde which are nerfed badly. My ratting Domi hitting at 160km with Bouncers in falloff is relatively unaffected once I fit scripts.

Ironically this change is going to make the Domi/Ishtar even more dominant as the boats of choice for drone users. Kinda sux for Geddon/Rattler/etc users though.

Overall I think the purpose of this change is more part of the "dumbing down" of EVE to make everything similar and easier for new players rather than an intentional nerf.

Working as intended.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Used to be able to hit things with curators at 80+ now to do any real damage need to be 70 or less. I guess we go to sniper ships?

I don't see how this particular change is in any way a dumbing down. If anything it just makes things a little more consistent. Other tracking computers are active and use scripts. It makes more sense that these do too.

5000 threads screaming for sentry nerfs, when it finally happened, they were replaced with 50000 threads crying about sentry nerfs.

I looked into the future, read tomorrows forum posts and pulled that jewel out to share with you.

That said other guns can't be individually damaged or destroyed and don't need yet a whole different module to engage targets beyond 60km on top of any needed locking and weapon range enhancements. It was all take and no give here when it came to the downside of drone use.

You can't ever keep everyone happy.

On an off-topic note. has anyone else noticed the stealth slight un-nerf of RLML and RHML ??

I mostly saw drone assist nerf threads, and still see no drone assist nerf. I don't really recall much positive feedback from the thread this was announced in either, just a lot of people saying the mark was missed on what to nerf.

I thought there were posts on that, did it not make the patch notes?

Not saying i liked it either. But to say it is a move that "dumb's down EVE" isn't very accurate.

Don't underestimate falloff and tracking scripts.

Damage application against a MWD spiraling Crow target in lowsec.

Many will not notice it, but Rubicon 1.1 indirectly fixed Curators for sniping. C:

PvE. Damage application against elite cruiser (Dire Pithum Eraser).

Pretty much ... it nerfed unbonused hulls which were already underwhelming and Garde which are hard to use AFK and had little effect on AFK sniping domis and drone assist doctrines at all.

(unless you are a chronic abuser of the New Topic Button, then your freedom to make threads needs to be nerfed.)

what We got before the change was "to make things (partially) consistant we did this thing" and after we got a token "they aren't broken so it's ok." With that, while possibly exaggerated, if we take them at their word it is kind of insinuated that sameness, which can be read as simplicity, was the goal.

Bought my drones quafe and Viagra. I poured it into their gas tank. Hoping it will fix things.
