We have come up with a much simpler repro case that consistently crashes my AMD display driver (and even blue-screened once). We have a potential fix that we're about to test with the original repro case - more on this later.
You there, tell us will we (the affected) get lost game time added back to our accounts?

don't be rediculous please and keep that thread focused

I'm optimistic we have found a fix - we need to do more testing to make sure nothing else broke. Assuming the testing goes well we'll have a patch ready on Monday.

In the meantime, turning off anti-aliasing should reduce the chance of driver crashes on AMD cards.

Snorlax, you cant be serious. I dont want to be rude, but this issue is affecting whole game play. If you know whats wrong, fix it now pls, cause you cant make it worse than it is.

If this fix works, is there any chance it can be deployed in a hotfix asap instead of Monday? some of us would actually like to play sometime this week please.

I have the same issue. I've had random crashes in nullsec anomalies and once warping to a gate (now that was scary), but I jumped down to highsec and I've now found the perfect toxic conditions for my system. Warping to the Hykotta gate in Ansila. Client crashes as soon as I get the markers loaded of items on grid with me. Relogging the emergency warp brings me back on grid and it crashes every single time.

AMD Phenom II x2 3.40 GHz (factory overclock due to massive watercooling)

RAM: 4Gb

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5700 series.

Reducing the chances is not a valid option when you are in nullsec fleets. You are forcing us to stay out of fights just when we stakes are higher in our coalition.

Only valid reply should be: we rollback the deployment until this is fixed. Anything else is not an option.

So we have to pay every day from Wednesday to Monday, 6 days, to play a game that crashes at least once every hour? Usually in the critical moments when approaching gates. That is ridiculous. Especially if the fix is known. I really hope for a faster response for this kind of critical bug which prevents using the game for which we have paid.

Turning anti-aliasing off doesn't help at least me because it has been turned off all the time. Nor does selecting DX9 instead of DX11.

Will ships lost as a result of associated graphics bugs be re-reimbursed?
only cos, y'know I was told it was fixed when using directx9...

Yes, I am wondering if they will.

Will be very nice to have an answer from CCP.

Same problems as others. Can't warp to a gate and not pray to some random Eve god that I won't get a "Driver error and its recovered" Message. CCP Please fix this....I've been with you for 10 years now you haven't pushed a group out of game with a faulty issue for 6 days especially one they didn't create.......It is unplayable...can we just call it what is is ? A temporary accidental denial of playable service? Please fix this....

Same problem,

Win 7 64 bit
2 x Sapphire HD6970

If it goes, i get black or white screen over all my clients and it will end up telling me EVE is unresponsive. I think i've also seen messages of Display drivers crashing.

Updating the ATI driver did not help and EVE has been stable for years before this mondays patch.

I'd like a patch a bit sooner then next monday, as i cannot undock with a buggy EVE client and hostiles everywhere.

Also, i run the exe file from the bin directory (because of multiple clients in different resolutions combined with hardlinks) and i'm not sure if there is a way to start EVE in dx9 mode using the exe file.

I'm sorry, we can't release a fix to low level graphics code without more testing. I appreciate that this is frustrating but we can't risk breaking the game for even more players. My team has worked hard to identify a fix but we can't rush it, much as I'd like to.

The fact I've now lost two ships to this bug crashing two different systems means I'm less inclined to play this game

I had intermittent crashes with Direct x11 and can confirm that DX9 has resolved the issue for me (so far so good, no crashes in the last four hours of play).

I am running:
7970 3gb OC and 6950 2gb with two screens. (Catalist 13.1 - Direct3D Version 9.14.10.0945)
i7 3770k @ 3.50GHz - Win 7 x64

Also worth noting that Direct x9 increases FPS by about 50% on average.
Hope it helps good luck finding the issue and the fix for this.
