Regular display driver crashes

Before patch yesterday things seemed ok. Running a R7 260x last night crashes began again reverted back to DX9.

Another thing as well that I've noticed since DX11 integration, shadows look like I'm on an acid trip. When I switch back to DX9 they are fine.

AMD R7 260X

I'd put more detail (MB and RAM type) but I'm at work.

With today's patch my drivers didn't crashed in character selection, they haven't crashed in gates or stations. Also no BSOD. Looks good so far! I have everything at minimum, I will try to max it and see what happens.

Nevermind, I warped in to a POS with a Leviathan in it and my drivers crashed again... cant join fleets, i cant play this game anymore....

My display driver crashes frequently for me too since the patch. It crashes both in station and approaching asteroids (so far).
I have a pretty old set up but the game worked flawlessly prior to the patch:

Nvidia 8800 GTX
Intel Q6600
Vista SP2

DirectX 9

The display driver continues to crash if I restart Eve, the only way to get back in is to reboot .

Hope this info helps.

I'm having the same issue, before I patched to 1.1 everything worked perfectly. Now I frequently get a BSOD, especially if I switch to a char in an anom that is near an MTU with a lot of wrecks...

Nvidia GeForce 9400GT 512mb

I was getting continual crashes with DX11 and had to revert to DX9. The continual crashing on DX11 appears to have been resolved post Rubicon 1.1, but any attempt to run FRAPS with multiple clients results in the frame rate dropping to a handful of frames a second

Oddly, I'm now fine running the game on DirectX 11 with my R9 280X and the Catalyst 14.1 beta drivers.

Me too,

Not sure if there are other threads, but this was the first Google popped up.
Not 100% when it started as only recently (past month or so) been playing again, and have had it all the while.

I am getting the error, pretty consistently when warping, entering/leaving station (changing state I guess u would call it).. also notice that it happens a lot more frequently when I am watching a flash video on my other screen, but that's prob just cos it's stressing the card a bit .

When it goes, I have to restart, otherwise it usually goes again straight away.

It's a pain because I cant really trust that I wont be kicked off, just at the "wrong" moment.

My setup (old now, but still does what is needed) Win8.1x64/Intel Q6600/DX11/Nvidia 570 (latest WHQL driver - 335.23).

Keep at it guys, there is def something there.

Thanks

PS Have crash .dmp's if required ?

Dear CCP,

I am not sure what the real problem is, because users are switching to DX9 and my computer has that on the default settings and it can't go any higher. My fathers machine has run this game prior to the patches just fine, and ever since the patch, I think from Odyssey it has been crashing the whole computer, from just the screen. Now reading from other posts, I have run multiple tests to see when, how, and why it crashes. Also I asked my father to clean out the machine yesterday and he removed all the dust in there, yet still crashes. If you want my tech specs, do please ask. I use a mac instead of a PC. However this is where I want to run it, PC.

The first test I ended up doing was run it the entire day and wait in station. This test turned up to still have a crash over time.

The second test I did was un-docking flying around for a while and see at what points it would crash. This came up at any given time, and seeing that others seem to have the same problem. Luckily for me running Null-Security sites did not end disastrously.

The third test I did was opening up an out of game browser, and here and there went to it through alt tab to it. Although I might need to give it some more of a test, I have seen no crash with this happening. I think that

So, Users,

Maybe just as a small solution, or at least something to try, open a out of game browser and go to a website you like. KEEP it open though.

I hope that we all can finally get a 100% workaround.

I would like to keep you all updated i had a browser window open and it still just randomly crashed. I was in station and it just crashed. I have run out of all possible ideas.

Thank you CCP,

Hmm. Are you guys using the latest drivers? I haven't had any crashes in weeks, still using my R9 280X in DirectX 11 mode.

Experiencing this problem where the display driver stops responding and recovers. Normally encounter this while jumping through gates, warping to structures - pos / poco's etc where interestingly enough when the system recovers I find i've been bumped thousand of km away from the intended destination.

One thing I have noted is that on the 28th there was an update to .net 4.5 to 4.5.1 . The results of this were BSOD while playing with EvE where the faulting module would be atikmdag.sys (atikmdag+0x277CE) . It's worth noting that after rolling back this update I no longer receive bluescreens, just display driver crashes when running DX11

Disable all OVERCLOCKING!!! on motherboard and cpu. if your getting the bsod with the atikmdag.sys failure the overclock your putting thru your CPU/Memory is guarenteed the problem. disable it all and it'll run perfectly. I had the same issue. cleared up when i turned off/down the overclock.

I was also noticing issues while using DX11. I haven't had any crashes; but, I have noticed that problem with the shadows others have mentioned. More specifically, I have noticed the issue with the shadows being cast by my ships, directly unto the hull. It looks like the shadows are chopped into pieces. I have noticed some strange lines running through space as well when jumping through space, they can also be seen when looking at a jump gate. When I run the game in DX9, they look fine.

Fitting:

Win 7 Premium (64bit)

The strange lines, are the jumproute you have planned, its added a while back.

Negative, these lines are transparent and I only see them cutting a swath through my jump bubble when jumping across the system and sometimes when I am looking at a jump gate. Those lines you are referring to are completely separate and I usually have them disabled.

Edit:
I was running with a corps-mate on a few missions tonight and noticed several times, that the shadows on the stations where he picked up his missions and the scenery in dead-space, flickered on and off periodically. This is with me running the game in DX9, instead of 11.

I'm having a similar issue, so, every time I log in eventually my drivers crash and my screen goes black, I can still hear but my video does not work at all and I have to reboot.

I can run multiple games on high settings for hours at a time with no issue. However, when I run Eve on high it crashes in ~5-15 minutes and on low it can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours. And, unlike the other people who have posted issues that seem to be caused by certain things, mine crashes for seemingly no reason it is just a matter of time from when I log in.

I was wondering if anyone (players or Devs or whatnot) had any advice on how to fix the issue.

Any help is appreciated.
