Socket Closed + Questions

Lately I have been having tons of "Socket Closed" errors. Sad
it seems I'm not alone in matter, and every post I've read so far, doesn't really seem to get any response to make it better or what we should do on our side.

From what I can understand CCP mostly say the Socket Closed error occurs because of our ISP, and not on their end.
I just don't understand why all other MMO/Multiplayer game I've played, have never disconnected me, no matter how unstable my network was at that time. Question

I can understand CCP's frustration. If they can't locate any problems on their end, but I still feel its CCP's problem, since they are the developers of the game. They need to do some changes.

I have some Questions and Suggestions that I think can make the whole "Socket Closed" experience less painful...
In case CCP can't correct the Socket closed issue from their end

Socket Closed Promt:
When you get the "Socket Closed" prompt, you are presented with 2 buttons "Restart" & "Exit"
I'm not sure if my game is broken, but the "Restart" button does nothing, in fact it does the exact same thing as Exit...(Am I alone on this one?)
Suggestion here would be: When you press the Restart button, the game will Auto-reconnect and begin the whole "Warping" MUCH quicker, back to your original location (Getting Socket Closed with a Orca, only to spend 5 min for it to return from the bubble to where it was before the disconnection happeened... ZZzz)
Make it quicker after Socket Closed.Attention

Auto Join previous fleet + Yellow Containers!
"Unfortunately" I multibox 8 Accounts in a mining fleet, and when I get Socket Closed, it takes me ages to reconnect, only to find out each character has left the Fleet, then to re-invite. After that I have to go through all accounts and abandon each Jettison container because they become Yellow after Socket closed. (I know its my own fault multiboxing so many accounts, and No. its not why I get Socket closed. I do that with 1 account open sometimes as well)
Suggestion here would be: When you get Socket Closed, it will maintain your Container + Fleet status for X-amount of time, so If you relog within that X-time, you will still be in the fleet and all the containers will still be white for the fleet.
Or make an option for those people who wish to be able to stay within fleet if Socket Closed should occur.

Maintain open windows and Keep Drones...
I love the idea of losing your drones if you forget them or have to warp out quickly. P
However losing drones because you get Socket Closed, is insanely frustrated, since you don't have control over it...
Kinda same thing happens with your open windows (Example: Location & Places), each time I login I have to reopen that window on all accounts, so I can easily warp to my locations. (Again my own fault for having so many accounts, but I would also be frustrated if I had to do it on 1 account over and over...)
Suggestion here would be: If you haven't been in combat recently and get Socket Closed, all your Drones will instanly be Scooped to Drone bay, no matter how far away they are in the location, (within decent range 20km+) So you don't end up losing mining drones at an asteroid because they couldn't get back before it auto warped you to the bubble while Socket closed.
The window part would just have to be saved with you UI/HUD file, or make an option to allow windows to be saved for next login session.


Again, I'm no hardcore programmer, and I don't know how CCP have created their code, but just quickly observing how the game handles different things, it doesn't seem like a hard job to copy/paste current code around and make changes to that, to achieve some of these things. (Again I could be wrong, It could also been build so it was impossible to make changes after final version, but I doubt it.)


I can see how some of these suggestion could be used for Tactical Disconnect combat warfare. however it could be adjusted so it wouldn't give any benefits for tactical Disconnect, but make it much smoother for people who actually get these "Socket Closed"...


I'm Sorry for my wall of text and bad english, The suggestions was only a way CCP could do something on their end, if they can't correct the Socket Closed issue.
Let me hear if any of you have similar problems or suggestion, hopefully CCP will see this and make it a little less frustrating. Blink

They will not do anything cause they have no clue whats going on or how to solve it....they just ignore people that cant play the game cause at any time u can get kicked out of the game ....which of course in EVE is not a good thing.

The "its on your end" also saves them from reiumbursing stuff every 20seconds.
But make no mistake, its on their end...not ours....if its ONLY EVE over a 16year time period ive been playing games online that does this ****....its not on my end.

I started getting this recently, socket closed all the god damn time.
Anywhere from every 5 minutes to every 2 hours, it happens way too often and it severely limits what I can do.

Why I know this isnt on my end: Litterally nothing has changed on my end, ISP is as stable as ever, not to mention Everything but EVE stays connected 24/7 if I want it to. People can be talking on teamspeak, and Ill be hearing them, when EVE disconnects. Any other online game does not have this issue whatsoever either.

This started for me yesterday, now I cannot even log in.
