Naturally if you discover any really unusual fit that really works well two things will happen:

a) it will become popular and no longer be unusual
b) forum trolls and nullbear/carebears will cry OP and try and get it nerfed somehow

I was able to make a **** fit Levi with 60.1 million EHP against the lowest resist. Pretty sure no one would predict how many DD are needed to kill that one. It's a lot of wasted ISK but it would make a killer DD demo video.

EDIT : 119 millions if you overload. It's not really a problem at that point right?

Also: someone posted LSE thrasher. quick eft and: got 150 dps less than tunnel snake version while getting just 1k ehp more.
Since in a solo-thrasher situation you're dead when dealing with scram+web frigate, this extra 1k ehp ain't gonna change the game for you.

In a group though it might be a nice fit, balancing the gank/tank.

I've fantasized about a dualwebbing, AB, scram, plated, ion blaster Talos. Never used it because I'm a coward and feel the need for a MWD on all the things when I roam around null, but I sure got laughed at for even suggesting such a fit.

Less laughable (to them) was the Sabre with bubble, improved cloak, 6 guns, mwd/sebo/scram/web that caught quite a bunch of unsuspecting bombers around Delve. It started out with a MSE but once I figured out that the bombers never had the intention of fighting back, but rather just getting the hell out of the bubble, I swapped it out for a sebo just in case.

Also, last time I was with an alliance and had a secret santa, I built 3 of these for my Santees:

There is so much hate for the AB, I still feel it has its uses. It cant be shut off, and doesn't bloom your sig. Why is the MWD almost universally used again?

I was more wondering how much an unusual fitting can be an asset, rather then fitting something cookie cutter. Lets say we have a guy that spots a ship that is almost always fit a certain way, and then fits his ship to be a direct counter to that ships usual fitting.
In this case, if the pilot flying the target ship is not using a cookie cutter fitting, and instead is using something unique. His unique fitting style can then be a very useful asset as the aggressors ship fitting wouldn't be as effective or down right useless.

You really think someone would do that? Just log into EvE and tell lies?

When Carebears Attack! was pretty epic. There are loads of vids of indies ganking floating about as well. Soloers still seem to use situational fits, it's not as if anyone is going to criticise them if it works.

The beyond crappy production value on this video always made me shutter. Nice font flashing red across the screen.

Also the RvB 10.000 frigate FFA thing had some... interesting fits in them. Like small shieldboosting Rifters (may have also been... well, pretty much any frigate, I don't remember) and stuff, granted it would cap out real quick but no one expected it and they even got some kills.

Yep, fill your lowslots with DC and meta4 bulkheads. Hybrid burst rigs, you cant fit any hull rigs anyway. This thing will have nice EHP, great damage but it will be somewhat slow, even with MWD. Those bulkheads cost quite some speed.
