I'm sure they whined about it too, you know, the ones that didn't get slaughtered that is.

What we need is a better weapon. At the time when fleets consisted of 249km battleships (and then the side the most won, probably) then capitals arrived and we had half a decade of changing fleet doctrines. Now we have all arrived at the best doctrine, which is slowcats (unless the arty nags nag them to death), so the fleet with the most carriers win. Now it is that time when CCP needs to release a new bigger weapon system that can decide the battle if 1 of them turns up in a slowcat engagement (or 10 if its cheap, 1 if its like titan expensive).
It#'s not so much the weapon, is the volume of them. These fleets can be countered, just the size of them is growing, on both sides. As isk and minerals is gathered at such speed, but these ships are not leaving the game, all sides are building bigger and bigger groups, meaning the battles will keep getting bigger and bigger. Now we've reached a critical point where the battle can;t take place, since the game can't handle the size the battle has reached.

If the battle could actually take place, both sides would suffer large losses, with the losing side obviously suffering more. That means ships are getting consumed, requiring more to be produced, completing the cycle. If they don't get blown up, the sizes of all sides will keep growing (as overall production doesn't halt), limited by only the number of pilots they can get (which with alts and plex for isk, is a lot).

For each one you can demonstrate, I'll lay a bet I can show you at least 10 more where a really clever General has met an opposing force directly and won.

By definition every example of you can come up with for this also produces an example of a fool on the other side.

But you are right, reality will always resist attempts to oversimplify it.

Reality has an almost infinite capacity to resist oversimplification.

maybe RF a lot more structures while your enemy sits in full grid and dont wait for them. ;-) Its boring it wont bring good fights or killboard so noone would use it because winning sov war is nonissue. Everyone is trully now blue and ocassional wars are just to amuse borend grunts and keep them paying in time or isk.

I have removed some rule breaking posts and those quoting them. Please people, keep it on topic and above all civil!

The rules:
4. Personal attacks are prohibited.

Commonly known as flaming, personal attacks are posts that are designed to personally berate or insult another forum user. Posts of this nature are not beneficial to the community spirit that CCP promote and as such they will not be tolerated.

5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.

26. Off-topic posting is prohibited.

Off-topic posting is permitted within reason, as sometimes a single comment may color or lighten the tone of discussion. However, excessive posting of off-topic remarks in an attempt to derail a thread may result in the thread being locked, or a forum warning being issued.
