just checked killmail.

It's quite strange that OP appeared in Typhoon makes people suspect made-up story. You always appear on killmail in ship you were in at the moment of killmail generated. It is quite common to see large-scale killmails when some people appear in pods with some damage inflicted. It just means that this person lost his ship by the moment victim was destroyed.

And yes, asking 100mil for retriever.... Shocked

I was flying a retriever (with hardly any ore in hold, I'd just dropped it off) and he wanted 100mil as a ransom. So I decided I'd try talking with him... For over 15mins... Whilst also talking to my alliance and blues in the area... And one of them decided to help a brother out... In a Tengu.

...He lost... ...received no ransom...

Yup.
Once had someone demand 300M ISK for my drake. I laughed, and told him to blap me. Then they wanted 300M for my pod. I laughed even more as they sent me home the fast route.

Total cost to me was under 150M. I'd already burned their blinged-out scanship for 190+M, and killed their loot-scoop too. I won. :D

Bottom line: Ransom fast, and make the price plausible, or get nothing but ridicule.

100m for a retriever... Where do people come up with this stuff. You should go put this in the pirate story thread so that we can see the chat logs!

Sounds like the pirate was pretty terrible for sure, but what does that say about OP mining in low sec and letting himself get caught by said terrible pirate.

Just saying.

Haha! To be fair, he was cloaked. And he also saw me on scan when he was moving his Capital, and that's when he decided to try and ransom me.

How do I get access to the chat logs? I can upload them if I can find out how to do it.

As far as I know when you do damage and what ship you are in at the time of explosion are two different things. The ship that will show up on the killmail is the ship you were in at the time of explosion.

I have had industrials with large guns on them on my killmail due to the fact that I blew up someones Dominix, they got in an Industrial and then I got popped by someone else in system.

This is also why you see so many pods on killmails.

If you 'can't remember the name of the pirate', then surely it would be a simple matter of looking at a kill log where you would appear as having done 'x damage' to the Statios with your drones before they were popped.

If you didn't lose your retriever, you would appear on the killmail as flying it.

Liar.

Chat logs are usually found in your EVE directory in the "my documents" folder if your running windows, unless you have chosen to place them elsewhere. Not sure about macintrash.

The "pirates" name is FerrenoNL actually. I just didn't have it to hand when I started the thread. I will find the chat log and paste it in the other thread mentioned above, hopefully you'll believe me then. I wouldn't care but I hate being called a liar haha.

I changed from the retriever to the typhoon because, naturally, I didn't want to have my retriever blown up if he targeted me (which he did try to before switching to the tengu) and so I warped off.

Await chat log.
