"This week in EVE" is a weekly overview of EVE Online related news and events and shows what is going on in EVE Online. The focus of this overview is on official news from CCP: For example, dev blogs and important forum posts by CCP developers, the ever evolving background story and upcoming events. The summary of the previous week 2/2014 can be found here. Available is also the overview 2014

  • New Player Training Sessions Track #3: Industry - Forum discussion
    • The Community Developers have been hosting New Player Training Sessions now since October 2013 with great success and regularly over 400 participants per session. Now it is time for a full Industry arc with 11 individual sessions! Whether you are new or old; if you are interested in Industry you should definitely show up for these sessions.

  • More Deployables from Super Friends - Forum discussion
    • Several new mobile deployables are coming with the point release Rubicon 1.1 and CCP SoniClover presents these interesting structures and invites everyone to discuss and to give valuable feedback. Two siphon variants and one unit which allow you to earn more with NPC hunting in nullsec space - at a risk!

  • More information on the New Eden Open II - Forum discussion
    • The signups for the New Eden Open II are open and available until January 20th. CCP Bro would like to tell you more about the sign ups, improvements to the NEO II framework such as sponsorship of teams, advertisements submitted by players and much more. Check out the blog!

  • Survey for Science & Industry - Your opinion matters!
    • The dev team "Game of Drones" is doing extensive investigation and discovery work for Science & Industry in EVE as a part of a larger effort as CCP Arrow explains.   • Training for the NEO II on the test server?
    • As CCP Fozzie explains, it will be not possible to set up a similar test server and complete private environments for teams training for the New Eden Open II.     • How long would you survive after the Apocalypse? CCP Shiny would make it 10 years, but CCP Falcon would survive incredible 40 years!

    • EVE TV is offering advertising space during its coverage of the New Eden Open II due to be broadcasted live in March. CCP Loxy explains the details on how you can get your advertisement broadcasted on EVE TV. Many of the ads for previous tournaments are incredible!

    • CCP Falcon explains how you might not be safe even inside a station - he comes forward with some scary story! Or is that just a ****-and-bull story of a retired pirate? Decide yourself!

  • Updates on the Audio engine

  • EVE Vegas 2014 - Start planning!
    • We all remember EVE Vegas 2013 and the incredible fun at this huge EVE player gathering in Las Vegas.     When I read the FIO news article about Rattlesnakes destroyed in Placid, I genuinely thought it was talking about a fight I was involved in. That fight happened in Placid a mere 2 jumps from Aldranette and had everything mentioned in the article except a mimir.

    Next time you make a passing joke about FW noobs, make sure your Rattlesnakes and Chimeras are safe and sound first Cool

    I really hope this e-mail thing works out since I don't always remember or have easy access to the forums. But all that aside thank you once again for putting this good stuff together here.

    CCP's sand box is EVE Online.  The sand is owned by CCP.  We pay them a monthly fee to throw the sand at each other.  That is all that is here, so move along. Nothing more to be seen.

    Is it possible to add the following feature to "Small Mobile Siphon Units?"

    - The owner of the siphon unit is able to unfasten the Small Mobile Siphon Unit.

    Although the Siphon unit is still unable to be scooped back into cargo... it can still be removed by the owner and eventually disappearing off into space...
