Alliance bookmarks would be handy, maybe to reduce server load, they can make em only last 24 hours?

No local in null sec would fix everything!

Personally i don't think it will add anything to server load, but that is the only somewhat thought out reason (probably a non issue) in this thread as to why alliance BM's would be bad. lol

Reason ?

Because we are not in alliance yet

Are you sure ? Probably, you don't have actual information.

Maybe in future, your corporation will be part of alliance and you will have the same problem.

Server load won't be affected by wh alliance bm shinanigans. When bm get spammed and un spammed then respammed to 5000 scrubs in a large null alliance - I'm not a computer girl, but that might take up some cpu time. For newer folks - warp to zero (which ruined the game as predicted) was instituted to remove bm copying from the game. Alliance bm could possibly bring that back. "OK, everyone put a bm in the alliance folder in 3....2.....1" (make the pac man getting eaten sounds). There is more to eve than wh life when making these changes.

All this discussion is kind of pointless for 2 reasons:

1) Jack said "NO"
2) Bane said "...[no]... please"

We were part of (what was at the time) the biggest alliance in WH space. Even if we still were I still wouldn't want them.

I want alliance bookmarks so RCC can become the largest alliance ingame and then we'll take all the C6 systems and create a fight club. I also want those that apply nonexistent rules on how we should play to be mad :)

Im not sure exactly what your point is here, maybe tl'dr.

As this post is in the WH section of the forum, im only concerned at how alliance bookmarks will change that particular aspect of the game.

Using the 'I'm not a computer girl' license to make assumptions how eve runs on the back end I will make the point that corp bookmarks already exist for these '5000 scrubs in a large null alliance' and there has been no issue with everybody creating a corp BM at the same time. Im sure if you have already used the corp bookmark feature you will notice the update is not instant, this might be a delayed update so other server requests take higher priority over the bookmark update. Plus if this is done intentionally to cause some kind of server lag then it wil be handled the same way other issues of generating server lag is handled.

Im sure the actual 'computer girl' at ccp can figure out how to share one more table.

In summary, don't care, ALLIANCE BM's NOW. Blobbers going to blob, moar servers!

PS. Have we come up with the min size a fleet can be before its called a blob? Or are we going to stick with any fleet that was bigger than mine?

We always managed fine without alliance bm. Why change?

PD. Why the ******* walls of quotes?

Bob Artis, you will be missed.

All I really wanted to do was make a 'pacman getting eaten' reference - which I pulled of perfectly.

Your 'this is the wh section, so only wh stuff matters' is kind of small minded though. We do share the server w/ the rest of eve, so the rest of eve does matter.

I think Jack addressed the actual technical part of the issue earlier in the post. Using the search function and 'namby pamby' will pull you right to his typical techno garbage wall of text.

You dont need them. If you want a reason you can quote me on, WH space doesnt need any more incentive to blob up into alliances.

(PS: if you get the reference, props ;) )

This doesn't seem very technical to me.

Sure, why not. But remember, then you also get to deal with the tards that bookmark the wormhole signatures instead of the hole itself.

It would make life easier, of course.

Errr wouldn't alliance bookmarks decrease server load? instead of multiple sets of chain bookmarks, there would only be one.

Damn needy Alliances and their whining and drama. Lol One corp WH Alliances are the only way to live.
