Role of Capitals in Faction Warfare: What is it?

There have been some rifts between the leadership of my alliance and it's membership, generally those in charge don't feel obligated to attend the fleets the plan or fly the fits the prescribe.

This has lead to a large amount of speculation as to where to go next, many are willing to leave the alliance and move on to something new, and for the most that means Faction warfare.

The issue has arisen, I know... that most of our pilots are capital pilots and we are not quite sure how capital fleets fit into the faction warfare mindset.

So I ask on our behalf... what is the role of capitals in faction warfare?

Thank You Obama!

Apparently the role of capitals is to be a source of complaint threads, and recently that role has apparently been expanded into complaint articles.

We are not complaining I personally feel our slowcat fleets are the best thing since sliced bread, its the Swiss army knife of starships.

They get used when an ihub needs to be flipped fast. Carriers are used sometimes with BS fleets.

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

You can hotdrop people with triage carriers and dreads, they're pretty strong in combat situations.

Lots of FW sites restrict the ships that can even enter them so yes FW contains a number of subcap ship types :)

I dont know. I think I'm going to need to know the name of the alliance and leadership in question to give you a proper answer.

Capitals are pretty good in FW for getting hot dropped by Shadow Cartel.

But if you can avoid SC they're very useful for iHub bashing.

Also useful for the usual POS, POCO, etc. bashes.

Large BS fleets not so common but do happen.

For 2x Battleships you can fly a capital...

The niche for battleships is really just for new low SP players, anyone with a little SP under their belt is better off in a carrier.

Yes, some people don't play enough to grind isk or work the market properly, refuse to scam or resort to corporate theft to line their pockets, and don't plan on buying isk, no matter how cheap GTC's are Blink

EDIT: I don't fly battleships either Shocked I need to start playing again......maybe Lol

Well

I luv my Battleships, I have 70 of them, most fit, and most Navy Versions.

When I fly one and lose it, I cry a little...

But since I suck at PVP I mostly fly cheap stuff for battles anyway...

Battleships are not really a PVP hull size at least not in this current meta.

Great for PVE though in high-sec

Terrible for PVE anywhere PVP might crop up =)

LOL @ 30s align times when ratting, takes long to warp to the belt than to kill the rats =P

I remember when Faction Warfare first came out, and I was in on my first FW capital kill. Was a blast... a bunch of assorted frigs, destroyers and cruisers plugging away at a Archon until it exploded. A lot of people were excited because they had never been in on a capital kill, let alone actually seen one before.
