Recording issues.

So, I used to fraps a lot of fights over the years, but since a couple of months fraps is starting to, break everything.
As soon as I start recording, doesn't matter what program/game it is, it freezes ONLY that program. It creates a output file as normal, it says that it is recording since the numbers turn red. When I stop recording, everything returns to perfectly normal like nothing happened (program/game is not crashing).

Every now and then it suddenly works for a moment, giving me the oppertunity to fraps a fight, if there is any. But as soon as I reboot my pc then, it just returns to freezing it all up.

With OBS, the issue is slightly different. When I try to stream/do a local recording it just gives a black preview. If I reset all the config files, it works again. But as soon as I change 1 setting, it's all gone. And again, the weird thing is, sometimes it just works like nothing is wrong, but as soon as I reboot it's turning into crap.

Both situations started while I still had W7 installed. When I installed over to W8.1 it worked for a brief moment and then stopped again. Identical issues.
In both cases, client is installed on 1 drive and the output file on the other.
Anybody knows what might be causing this issue? I am pretty sure it is something hardware related.

I tried out different recording software already, but those don't fix the issue, they just let the program crash. Or let everything crash.

PC specs:
Asus Sabretooth 990FX
AMD FX8150
AMD Radeon HD 7770 (times 2, not in crossfire)
OCZ Agility 3 SSD
8GB DDR3
W8.1
Mizhir

Sounds weird.

Not that I am an expert, but have you tried to test if it might be something with your GPUs? Since you are lucky to have 2 of them you can test with 1 offline and then afterwards try with the other one offline instead to see if that makes any difference.

GPU's are only causing the issue from OBS. Since a lot of people have issue with black screens, and all of them got dual GPU. Issue is that the fix for them (simply changing the GPU you use in the settings) doesn't work here.
A lot of people then say, then just use window capture. But that just gets the first image open on that screen and keeps it on that. Not moving or anything. Sound works fine and you can see the mouse moving. Restarting the stream then gives the same issue.

I did just found out that with fraps, it does record fine if I got the output file set to an external HDD. So doing a format now on the drive I use to record it on, hopefully that might fix that issue. Otherwise might be a drive failure.
