As for freighters or indy ships in general, I always held the opinion that it would be way more fun for everyone involved, if they had some decent weaponry on board. Simply so that you could try to fight off a gank by yourself or hold up until your friends/concord arrives; obviously with way longer response times then. You shoot me? I shoot back! Enough for consequences.

Isn't that exactly how partisans would fight an occupying force? Instead of clashing into huge armies that vastly outnumber you, you go out and commit acts of sabotage; attack supply lines (renters) etc and retreat back into the hills. Simply make the occupation to costly to continue.

yeah except we're the united states of america and gevlon is busy trying to sabotage people in Tanzania because he can't afford a plane ticket over here
So tell me, how much is it to fly once a day with your friends to Tanzania to prevent him from humping your POCOs over there? Blink

I'm arguing that there should be more consequences to such actions

The consequences to these actions should be the people I shot going and shooting me and my friends in revenge, and such is how a sandbox should be.
Except they can't, since the only time gankers undock is to gank. If the idea is everyone should just blow each other up, then concord and sec status should be taken out entirely. The way it currently stands there's just set ships and certain levels of cargo/fittings that crosses a danger line, so basically if you fly more than that you are at more risk. I would be all for ways for people to blow each other up more, but it needs to be done in a way that drives conflict on both sides, not just one sided ganks.

I never said it should be. But why would Caldari stations allow you to dock in the highest security status if all you do is fly around shooting citizens outside for example. And when was the last time you increased your sec status? Tags make it considerably easier.

e: if you think -10 ganking is easy you haven't done it. Anything other than instant point-to-point warps and you get exploded. This makes coordination something of a big pain. It also makes solo ganking have an entry fee of a second account just to give warpins, and potentially even a third account to throw ships at your main in a pod. Please at least try it for a length of time before claiming it's not a significant deterrent to doing it; there's a reason we grind our sec status to keep it positive despite it being a chore unto itself.

e2: -10 ganking is basically pod killing, nothing more. Anything more involved than landing on grid, locking and popping a pod means you want to have decent enough sec status to keep the fac pol off you.
I have done it, and it is easy. Even Gevlon managed it for christ's sake.

Hey guys. We killed 59 Titans on Monday and CCP put a monument in game to our great victory. We are about to roll the south and are on the verge of defeating the greatest force we've ever faced. Hows this highsec thing going? Are we dead/broke yet?

Yes this is all nice and dandy, pretty impressive actually. And I mean that in all honesty.

But what is it to me, a humble highsec dweller? This affects me as much as the sack of rice that fell over in China

Then why do you get gangs of -10 dessies queuing up on a lowsec gate to high sec, shortly after heading through straight to a 0.5 belt to melt mackinaws Pirate

To say -10 guys can only shoot pods is completely untrue. This is all off-topic ofc but I thought you might appreciate being corrected Cool

Now if you are talking solo ganking then you may well be correct. But we both know that eve is not a solo game!

Welcome to being painted in the same broad strokes as Goons simply because you work with us. No matter what you do, you're always making a mistake and they have you exactly where they want you. No amount of success against them will shift their opinion.

Darwin's Lemmings went on a lowsec roam. The 30 marmite guys that showed up, decided to stand down, and tora decloaked himself twice. I took too long fitting ships to get undocked for the first poco XD

The smug train keeps rolling.

A POCO exploded we are the worst reppers :(

Luckily true goon hero Mynnna was there to pick up the slack and put another POCO in it's place so highsec is once again saved from being taxed by an evil Randian overlord.

Also marmite ran back to a docking radius somewhere but that shouldn't be news to anyone.

They did however activate killrights on some of us and then beg in local for 15mins for someone else to come shoot us. Why is it always "someone else" with you guys?

Anyway OP success again.

What was the opportunity cost for Lemmings reffing all those POCOs and then not even showing up to try and kill them?

EVE is a game about spaceships and there's an enormous amount of work to do on the in-space gameplay before players (or developers) are ready to sacrifice it for a totally new type of gameplay - CCP Rise

CFC really needs to name some stations in honor of Laz the Great, hero of the CFC, Victor of the South, Savior of the Rusrus, may all tremble at the sound of his name.
