Where to hand in new security tags?

Regarding the relatively new security tags that can be handed in to increase a pilots security standing :

1) I had a quick glance and it appears that the security tags can only be handed in to receive an increase in security standing at offices in low sec. Is this the case or can they be handed into offices in high sec space as well ?

2) The security tags seem to be quite expensive, or some of them do, on the market. How hard is it to locate and kill them in the asteroid belts in low sec ?

3) It also appeared to me that I would have to pay several million ISK, maybe per tag, to hand in security tags at the security offices. Is this the case or am I mistaken ? The Evelopedia page is not entirely clear on this subject.

Regarding the other method of increasing security standing can anyone suggest a good way to do this for a relatively new and not that highly skilled pilot ?

As for increasing your sec without tags, welcome to the world of ratting in low or null, bouncing through systems, killing the biggest rat you see, then moving to the next system.

Hmm. Not sure the figures on your link are correct. 211 million ISK to go from -5 to -2 sounds very excessive. I looked on the market in my local area and I think it worked out somewhere in the region of 36 million . Which is still quite a lot if you are ganking untanked miners as opposed to idiots carrying billions of ISK cargo in T1 industrials.

How much sec status would I lose ganking , for example, an untanked Retriever ?

If 36 million is too much ISK for you to get from -5 to -2 (and I'm pretty sure it's nowhere near that cheap) then perhaps ganking isn't for you, if you just want to gank miners it's not going to be profitable so you'll need a good source of income to repair that sec status. Not trying to sound harsh, just don't want you to go broke spending all your cash on tags.

The sec status you'd lose is roughly 0.2 per gank but it will vary. If you start podding people your sec status will go to **** very quickly.

If you gank for the sake of ganking miners...you don't do it for profits.

If you want to gank for the sake of profit...don't gank miners but scan people and pick your targets.

36 million? for 6 Clone Soldier Transporter Tags? + the isk cost?

Go buy them and sell them to the buy orders at 28 million a pop in Jita.
