This.
Man-up and fight for your stuffs. Or watch it become other peoples' stuffs (including KMs).

Please remember, this is Highsec we are talking about.

I have seen kills on the players that do this kind of thing (shooting MTUs). Sentry drones can do miracles.

Hello everyone,

When doing some mindless carebearing in l4s some random guy got in and flagged him self in hope of me taking the bait, bothered by my ignorance he destroyed the MTU i had on the field. Didn't bother me either since it had only junk inside. Only later i noticed the loss in my kill mails.

Personally i think it's an unfairly easy +1 kill.

Why don't these things get protected by concord rules?
Shooting an MTU gives a suspect flag, not a Concord response, this is by design.

Why are you free to get a +1 kill on pilot owned object?
Killing the MTU isn't the aim of the exercise, catching someone with their pants down, IE: with their drones set to aggressive and dumb enough not to recall them, or just plain silly enough to take a pot shot and start a limited engagement is.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Or kill it yourself? Do you go suspect if you shoot your own MTU? I'll have to try this.

or just don't deploy it?

A true killmail "another word for female sex worker" will "female sex worker" on his own killmails, of course :P

Because they're meant to be easy to attack and to work as conflict creators.

Quote:

Because it makes no real difference.

Are you sure about this difference?

From what I understand, the killboard addicts care about "green" on their board. Would an inconsequential kill that adds to this "green" not be just as bad as inconsequential ISK-earning of highsec (which the wallet-watchers equally obsess over)?

Of course an MTU (and I forgot all about them until this thread) is apt to be full of T1 salvage junk anyway, but I reckon that still "matters" to the KB addict just as much as ISK matters to people who won't tank their indy.

Can these things be looted instead? I wonder.

I am also willing to bet that maybe a day comes when we can remotely destroy before someone "get the KM on it" and the same people killing them will then be in here crying about it.

ISK and killmails... grrr get rid of kill mails and ISK fountains.

If this occurred a lot, surely people would start putting MTUs out as bait.

Seems simple enough to do, deploy MTU in your mates mission and then cloak a PvP gank ship and wait for someone to shoot it.

I've yet to have anyone shoot my MTU on my mining alts, so I don't think this would be very productive.

You know you can just scoop it right?

When they start shooting at your MTU, just scoop it. Works a charm against me, I just leave and look for someone stupider.

Kill mails are fun to collect. They don't mean anything at all (except point out some of your more embarrassing fitting ideas). However they're good for making conversation or as memory aids so that you can remember a particular gudfite.

Depends. I nearly took out a Rattlesnake today doing this, and his sentries couldn't touch me. Although, I was in a Wolf and yes, after killing his sentries and the rest of the drones he launched against me, I was killing the Rattler.... until he had friends show up in a Thorax and a Vexor. Ended up having to settle for just killing the Vexor.

But at least they staged an effective defence, and an effective enough distraction that I had to let the Rattlesnake go.

Killmails are a joke and have been for some time. Prior to MTU and Siphons people, corporations and alliances could reach top of the killboards by shooting POS and POS structures. Last I checked the number one solo pilot on BC was a guy who had shot and killed 500 or so MTU :)

in short KBs are a joke much like average EvE PvP.

I care about killmails. I care about the records, the memories, the statistics, the sharing of the experience, and yes sometimes even the bragging rights (on kills, not efficiency because that's meaningless). I like something I can point to and say "I was there."

So call me a killboard-whore. don't care what you say.

Confirmed: When you get 100 kills, CONCORD gives to a shiny medal.

However, dont mess with MTU

MTU has been know to stand for "Mess Thou Up"

MTU is a device we can trust

If you were running for office, MTU would vote for you
