Then again how much does it cost for them to go away? AND YET then again it could be someone infiltraiting a corp and trying to cause dismay. I do advocate miners going to null however I do recomend proper proceedures are taken to prevent loss of ship and pod. Lock your system down with bubbles and an anti cyno thing on the station.

Thats assuming the local Alliance dont come along and smash your towers to bits

Also, bubbles dont stop cyno-carrying Interceptors from hotdropping a Blops on your retriever

Also, bubbles are easily circumnavigated in a Stealthbomber unless you have the human resources to put a defense fleet on all gates

We could "what if" all day however I'm advocating a positive change for the miners. Make freinds with the local alliance. Rent the space if you need to. Their miners, they have fat wallets, most of them. OR join a larger entity and then an alliance. They protect you. Usually that gets you an intel channel and team speak just to stay in the loop. LOTs of way to deal with problems.

Anyone who follows your "advice" about how to survive once they move to null is going to die.

Screaming.

You sound jaded by null. Common sense privailes. Eyes in local and being on coms saves lives. Not saying it's the "Perfect Plan" however it's still better than being bullied. What do you suggest they do then?

Nope not in the slightest. Null is chockfull of opporunity, adventure, excitment and really wild things. Im not happy about the idea of waves of high sec colonists taking those opportunities for those of us who struck out to make our fortunes early, but hey, thats economics market forces and the human condition for you, so I cant complain about that.

But unless you simply have a friend of a friend who cna get you into the in crowd, going up in a small high sec corp plonking up a tower and comming a Circle-of-Two diplo will get you nothing but a burned-down tower and knives in your face.

My advice to wanna-be nullbears is; think small, walk cautiously and be prepared to spend a long time cloaked, trembling as those who want to wear your scrotum as a nose-warmer trawl their territory looking for anyone they can kill.

Bring two of everything you think you will need, but try to pack light.

Scout everything before you go anywhere.

Forget using a tower, think around any need you have for one.

Slow and steady wins the race.

Oh, and stock up on cynos. You will lose countless beacons, noobships and cyno alts.

Slightly off topic, but would an assault frigate be able to destroy something like say, your average renter in a procurer?

I would imagine so. though the average renter would probably be using something much less tanky than a proc due to a false sense of security.

Procs are for solo nullbears in NPC null where they need the tank.

I agree with everything. I see your thought on them taking opportunities away from us iffy. Loads of space needs filled and not very much competition (marketing wise/ not enemies theres plenty of those)

I bet I could have fun slapping a tank-proc around with a stealthbomber though.

Yes, those ones with 2 Invuls, a EM Ward and a Medium extender in the mids and a bulkhead and damage control in the lows.

You know, the ones they think are gank-proof in high.

Gotcha, I think we are more on a similar wavelength than I first thought too.

Yes, the markets need populated. But not at the cost of all the anoms being nommed and the -0.9 belts being dried up, thats what Im worried about.

Towers, meh, if you are lucky you can blue with a bunch of big dogs, but for the start ups, I really advise thinking of plans that allow you to get the most out using the least stuff.

Well after hearing about this "safe" renting space, I just feel compelled to make a little day trip and err...enjoy some scenery. You know. Roll

Yeah you need someone to manage the numbers so things don't offset too terrible. Schedualing and the like. Just saying that if you try and space out a little bit and schedual your mining for the day to keep number even things should be fine. I'm sure if you posse up with some people they can help you track that. Make sure someone can pos gunner.

Completely mis-read the title of this thread thinking that the OP was suggesting that miners started bumping back...

That might have been a bit more of an interesting twist?

Um POS gunner vs a 24 Naga/Oracle fleet tho? With escorts and fleet support assets?

So would you agree that it would be more profitable for them to come to null while meeting certain criteria?

Yes, more profitable by far. TBH, its one of the reasons I like New Order, it pushes more folk to use their brains instead of simply clicking on the mining layzors every day.

But Im simply pointing out that it wouldbe unfair to suggest that null is in any way a safer place, and that you wont get ganked, melted, smashed or lose your towers on the whim of someone else.

I can agree with that to a point. It's all about the risk vs reward.

That is also true.

However, if you do find some sort of haven I know some non-violence friends who'd be interested in striking a deal with you.
