Intermittently losing all my open dialogue boxes in game followed by lag

Hi all. I am a new player and for the last 2 days every time I try to send an email in game, or apply to a corp, all the open dialogue boxes disappear followed by unbearable lag. The only way I can stop this is to tab to my desktop and back again.

I have a pretty good spec laptop and have even tried reducing all the settings but it still happens.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Theres a few threads on this - some people seem to be able to work around it by swapping to the DX9 renderer from the escape options menu but others say that does nothing for them.

Thanks for the reply. I changed to DX9 the other day after posting this thread and so far I have had no further problems.
