I feel like we're being trolled but... the events that have occurred in this thread just don't occur. Should we try asking for more stuff while the universe is strange?

Every day I'm wafflin!

When are you updating the engine trails? P

I have not forgotten about the closing statement in your devblog.

maybe bubbles just shouldn't be stackable?

oh look, ccp fixed it.
must be nice

Hey CCP, how about one of the 5 million things in FW get some attention, eh?

Because everyone knows that graphic artists are also in charge of overall game design for major content like FW.

We MUST be getting trolled here, my crappy video card is in need of an upgrade but I am clumsy as hell when it comes to hardware. However, if we DO get this filter option, I'd be extremely happy!!! Clouds are what make me decide to NOT take fights in your awesome PVP game because I play Minmatar mostly, and relative positioning and movement is important with projectile weapons.

As for these bubbles... their stackability is kind of a gameplay element in it's own right. The issue is mainly graphical, but that's what you get for rendering unlimited objects with 0.X transparancy on top of each other: at some point you are going to lose that transparency! By the way, the new bubble graphics are AWESOME apart from this 'feature' which is merely a side-effect of the texture: I don't think any of it is 100% transparent and thus these layers will keep rendering on top of each other, untill the image is 100% opaque.

I know there is a method in 3D modelling to render a single mesh created from other meshes, but I have no idea if this is feasable in real-time using a detailed mesh. Cinema 4D called this a 'metaball'. By rendering a single, tightly shaped metaball using the dimensions of seperate bubbles as a guideline, you can prevent multiple textures stacking on top of each other.

What if I want to see the bubble effects, just not be blinded to **** by them?

Fix the REAL issue here.

That being said we've been asking for what you just did for ages, so I appreciate that.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

While you are at it, how about responding to this thread https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4055799#post4055799 with something showing some concern and future action. I have my last two accounts coming up for renewal in 2 months. I'm seriously considering letting them lapse like I did with my other two over this issue.

CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, please give us a persisting off button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals.

Seriously?!? You fix this in less than four hours, yet we've had to deal with the headache and nausea inducing gate transition animation for 7 MONTHS without so much as an update after we were first promised "improvements?"

The lack of consistency in addressing customer graphics issues is disgusting.

Why a switch on/off? Because the new animation doesn't add anything to gameplay and it's graphically annoying. In other words, it's worse than bad: it's useless. Simple as that.     _ - Kina Ayami_

And delete or improve the damn clouds while you are at it CCP. We can turn off trails, gun effects, shadows... everything BUT the ONE thing that so many video cards disagree with. Kill these clouds CCP.

Would it (mathematically) be hard to fuse the mesh of multiple bubbles client-side, and apply a single semi-transparent texture? What we see here are endless layers of transparency on top of each other, nothing more.

While its nice we're getting to disable clouds after literally years of community begging, why in the world are you lumping it with the "effects" ticker? I want to disable the ugly, resource hogging clouds without totally disabling practically every other pretty particle effect in the game that doesn't cause any problems.
