Not sure what nullsec group to join— are Goons nice people?

Hello.

I'm a player with a medium level of combat experience in EVE, looking to get into fleet command.

However, I'm not sure what kind of nullsec group to join. I probably wouldn't join the "rus" coalition as I only speak English, so that leaves N3 or Goons for the major blocs.

From the picture the Mittani paints on his site, the Goonswarm have great camaraderie with their fellow alliance members.

Anyway, I'd like to ask, are Goons friendly to their (non main corp/something awful) members?
Are they very supportive of letting somewhat new players learn how to command fleets?

Yeah.

I can't speak much for individual goons, but policy-wise they are good to new players, don't get snooty over SP and have a good ship replacement program (unless you lose a ship to Harry Forever).

Yes, and yes. Pretty much anyone, even newbies, can get skirmish commander keys and take out the appropriate fleets.

But remember, if you ever get one of our alliances on your employment history you will become a terrible honorless no skill blobber.

GSF has always had its fair share of trolls. But I would say equal to all the other big alliances as well. The community just talks about goonswarm more because it is the melrose place of EVE online.

you might want to consider rvb, where 'fleet commander' often means 'the dude willing to take out a fleet', especially in lower-populated timezones. unless something's changed drastically from when i was there, they're always willing to allow someone the opportunity to learn

I don't think there's any rule that says random joe can't take out a fleet somewhere, as long as he's not flying something uber expensive, distracting from strategic ops that need to be done, or shooting things he's not supposed to shoot. Anyone that dies would also be eligible for peacetime reimbursement.

Can't say for N3, but the little bees will either destroy you or coddle you. No middle ground. They are both one of the most newbie friendly corps and the worst scammers.

Hello, I am interested in the other members of the CFC.

However, I have heard that groups like GENTS and LAWN more often stick to their own space and don't fight as much.

I've also heard that RAZOR has a "no smack talk" policy, which doesn't appeal to me.
