Localised gravity field module

A module utilising the artificial gravity technology used aboard space vessels coupled with the well developed tractor beam technology capable of creating a short range localised tractor field capable of pulling in clouds of debris or cargo containers.

Due to the nature of the technology it can not be used on specific targets instead creating a spherical area of effect directly ahead of the vessel that utilises this module capable of stabilising and pulling in objects within the area of effect.

Module receives a range and/or area of effect bonus when fitted to a dedicated probing ship.

That's the nifty description dealt with. I see this module being used by probers to scoop up the loot spew they have been forced to deal with now. Activation at the right moment will result in the prober being able to catch majority of cans with ease. This could be given a double edged sword feel by making some cans booby-trapped, detonating when within a certain range of the probing ship and only actually activated because of the use of the localised gravity field module. Can be used on wrecks and cans from missions or elsewhere but not really the best option for it so no stepping on the Noctis' toes. REally geared towards the capture of loot spew.

Thoughts?

Edit -

Fitting Reqs.

High slot module
Range - 5km or less cone reaching out in front of the ship.
CPU, PG and cap reqs. comparable to a tractor beam.
Special requirements - Must be activated when in range of something to tractor, if not it shuts down and you lose the opportunity.

What's "short range"? What does it pull in, and what does it not? How much capacitor would it cost, which slot does it go in? Fitting constraints? Doesn't this step on the Noctis' and/or Mobile Tractor Unit's toes?

You do realize that the loot spew is there so that exactly this will not ever happen, right?

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.

Sticky: AFK Cloaking Thread It's not pretty, but it's there.

I do indeed realise that loot spew is here for the reason of not allowing probers easy access to all of the loot.

This does not really take away from that as the prober would still have to activate the module at the correct time to stand any chance of the module having any real effect. Lastly, I see the module working as a field that has an area of effect reaching out as a cone in front of the ship rather than all around the ship so the prober would have to be aligned correctly to catch the loot.

What's one more click in "A game of clicks"

I'd rather see CCP address the actual "bad-ness" of the scatter mechanic than see them add some workarou....module to deal with it.

Post, not +1
