POCO only high sec?

With the new POCO I was under the impression that you could build these anywhere. But when I tried to attack one in a .5 system Concord attacked me.

Can you only build Player Owned Custom Offices in High sec (.6 - 1.0) systems?

If so why are you not allowed to build a POCO in the other systems?

Thank you

you can attack INTERBUS pocos without concord attacking you, but if it is already player owned then concord will come say hi. You need to wardec the corp/alliance first if you wish to shoot player owned ones in highsec.

btw 0.5 is highsec. so your third sentence is a bit strange :)

You can always wardec the POCO owning company if you want the spot that bad.

Or you could just call Chribba and offer to buy it off the owner.

I wouldnt bother with chribba over a poco or two. but yes it is definitely a possibility, just remember a lot of people have this irational thing where they rather see their poco burn then actually make money on it. dont ask me why, but that is my experience when contacting people about buying/selling pocos

I read an interesting article on how RvB has monopolized POCOs in The Forge region. It was an eye opener.

I'm curious to hear first hand experience on how hisec POCOs have changed the hisec landscape, if at all ? Be that from a pvp or industrial perspective?

I did some research and noticed this one corp in Gentleman's Agreement has bashed 600+ POCOs since Rubicon was introduced. Even sadder is that he ISOboxed with 49 accounts in an effort to do so

Honestly, forum non-sense aside, you're surprised by this? I personally have zero doubt that it's an organized "whatcha think if we..." kind of thing a number of people chatted about and decided to move forward on a not inconsequential metagaming to EveO. I have, as well as a number of people I know, stopped completely on their PI game. There are still a number of low sec installations I use that have reasonable tax rates, but I haven't even checked them in weeks. Just not worth the time anymore. Goonies/RvB should be congratulated on their quick move to dominate this part of the high sec game. Personally I think it's CCP-approved favoritism; they knew EXACTLY what would happen when they imposed the new game mechanics, and they KNEW nobody would be able to challenge the new PI Overlords. I hate to see it, but I really hope this part of EveO just dies on the vine. It won't, but I can hope.

But we really don't see CCP learning from the past, do we? ;-)

oh i saw someone going through high sec to own all of the POCOs they can with high tax rates just to have free isk off of someone elses work when it was in the planning stages, my corp is taking over some POCOs with low tax rates so that people that want to do PI can with a low tax of i think 10% is what they are set at. I know a number of people that have quit PI due to people taking over a POCO and running high taxes.

You may want to actually look at the tax rates on those RvB pocos.
