Hi,

I have a ATI Radeon 4870 videocard installed and it's no longer available in the EVE client.
It may be old but it is still better than the minimum system requirements as mentioned on the wiki.

I filed a bug-report including a dxdiag.txt. Unfortunately we don't get any feedback on bug-reports these days.

Any Dev that can comment on this? And what I can do to get EVE working on it?

Alice.

PS: Buying a new videocard is clearly not the answer I am after.

Hi,

I had a short look at your bug report, but I was not able to find the reason for your problems. The Radeon 4870 card should be supported.
The dxdiag file contains additional entries of another videocard (Radeon HD 6700 Series). Is this card still installed? I could imagine that this one might be causing conflicts. Maybe it helps to uninstall all graphics drivers and install them again.

For starting exefile.exe in the bin folder you can add following switch to force dx9: /triPlatform=dx9

Hi,

Thanks for the rapid response!

The ATI Radeon 6790 card works like a charm and is visible in EVE client.

When I start the launcher or the eve binary directly I cannot select the ATI Radeon 4870.

A test with your start up option: works like a charm. :)
Now both the cards are mentioned in the EVE client!

I'll modify my EVE shortcut to include the /triPlatform=dx9 option.

Thanks.

Update: Now I can run multiple games each on a different card. Only 'bug' that remains is that without this startup option not all installed videocards are shown.

This fixed my issue as well.

I was running a 2 video card setup ATI/Nvidia and it was working fine until I reformatted. After reformatting I could not select the secondary video card unless I disabled the primary in device manager and restarted a new client. Adding the force allows me to select a card now.
